Yea that makes sense. Ground may still be frozen or just thawed out. It has that very soft feel on top, so probably still thawing. I expect some growth by the weekend

Yep. My father has a Davis weather station that I can view on my Davis App. Lately it’s been 75-80 everyday, same for this week.

My father lives in Naples and had a boat. My sister lives in Davie and also has a boat. Father in law lives in Deerfield also with a boat. nobody does anything outside in Florida in the summer. It’s horrific and they all come up north for the summer. Their summer is our winter, everyone leaves and those who stay remain inside, especially during the daytime. yes. You can boat from 9 am to noon generally without storms, but that’s not exactly enjoying a relaxing day on the water.

26 this morning, up to 43. Florida is horrible in the summer. It rains every afternoon. Boating is miserable there in the summer. You are being chased by storms and when you are not it’s 7000 degrees and oppressive outside. Truly horrific and most people stay indoors. the winter in Florida is not great for boating either. It’s usually very windy and unless you are by the keys can often be very cool.

No there shouldn’t be. People just need to not get triggered so easily by the words “not very cold”. Too many snowflakes

Nobody on here is denying that for the new 30 year averages it was below normal. some people get triggered at the suggestion that notwithstanding the 30 year averages, it was not a very cold winter irrespective of the 30 year baseline, which it was not.

Some on here are older than 30, so they remember when winters were colder. Sorry if this is hard to grasp

Look at those stats one more time. This winter falls on the warmer side of overall records and within a degree of winters in the 70s. It’s an average winter, but a colder winter compared to the last decade.

So for people who are older this was an average winter, for younger people it was a cold winter.

It’s funny how this area of Suffolk is always warmer than other areas in summer and winter sunny days. Even on Wunderground the local PWS are low 40s. We are in a valley here surrounded by 200-300 foothills and away from any ocean or sound influence, so I’m guessing that does it. Center island and flat
