  1. Yeah agree 100%. Southern Plains and Mississippi Valley Snowfall averages actually went up the last five years.
  2. Carvers, of course that's just a conspiracy theory from us regarding the political agenda, lol.
  3. Yeah, I noticed that too. I wonder what they show for Lee County that Winter. ?. The range was 35 to over 50 inches (excluding Mountain tops).
  4. I'll second that. Same with the so called official Pennington gap Site. It's just awful how poorly recorded and kept the Data is. It may not be political but, it looks it regardless. Climate agenda .
  5. Wound up with about half inch Total Snow here. Only a quarter inch or so on grass and snow board at any time however.
  6. Saw similar outcome in the big Jan 2016 Storm. Heavy Snow west and east of the great Valley. Mixed mess Valley. Wound up with just 4 inches at my house then. Oddly, portions of the County easily doubled that.
  7. If this developing stuff in far SWVA/EKY and NE TN move that way expect more than forecasted.
  8. Yeah, was checking out the MA Sub earlier and they're pretty torn up regarding that. The GEFS is the terrible looking one. We can work with the other's. We definitely don't want that La nina Ridge dig that western Trough like GEFS indicating along with a - NAO. Then we have what killed us last year. Hopefully, that doesn't happen. Let's hope we score a couple times early January that way it'll be easier to take.
  9. Yeah, a heavy shower quickly covered grass here. Looks like western Lee down through Hancock County is getting clocked with a strengthening training band. Also , area sinking south through Harlan County KY is moderate to heavy. Some areas will get a surprise accumulation tonight.
  10. Snow began here in Lee County VA around 10:30. Temps running just above freezing so not sticking as it's not heavy enough to overcome the slightly above freezing T and warm ground. A dusting is at mountain around 2000 ft and up so far.
  11. Snow began here around 10:30. Temps running just above freezing so not sticking as it's not heavy enough to overcome the slightly above freezing T and warm ground. A dusting is at mountain around 2000 ft and up so far.
  12. Lt Snow began here around 10:30. Temps running just above freezing so not sticking as it's not heavy enough to overcome the slightly above freezing T and warm ground. A dusting is at mountain around 2000 ft and up so far.
  13. Light snow began here around 10:30. Temps running just above freezing here. 34 now 33 at onset. Looks kike a dusting on mountain from 2000 ft on up so far.
  14. Much of the moisture in the mid/ upper levels was used up with last System , as KMRX noted. However, alot of low level RH so, may be picking up on that being lifted.
  15. Yeah, as most of us know, an SSW really fouled us up just as a great pattern was setting up a couple times the last several years. Timing of occurrence I suppose.
  16. Wound up with just over a half inch Total here. Totally short changed. Those bands continued training S to N over same areas yesterday. When that one that soaked the plateau finally slowly made it over our area there wasn't much left of it.
  17. Alot of winner's there. Surprised to not see '78 . The MJO phases were similar is what was intriguing with Jan. that year. Cold/snowy through those. I don't know if MJO is used in those packages.?. I see quite a few Nina and Neutral Enso in there as well. Those '60's one's were great as was '71. I'm with you on the extreme like '85 . Even if that pattern were carbon copied it wouldn't be as extreme as the Climate is a bit warmer now. That 77 wouldn't be as extreme either, obviously. Of course, would still be some cold stuff. Some other's in there that featured a turn to colder but, didn't yield much Snow. '88-'89 looks to be too with that. It was rather lackluster sadly. Only real decent snowfall was late February. 25th I think. 5-7" from a storm that started as sleet(ice pellets). Most of those on the list featured were good Snowfall wise.
  18. Great work and analysis as usual Man! Some great Winter's featured that Pattern. Jan-Mar 1979 comes to mind. Even the great cold snowy Winter of 77-78 to some extent. Hints of 95-96 in there too. Hopefully that comes to fruition. If so, fun and games.
  19. Exactly. Same deal with last System. This is 3 Months in a row of well below average Rainfall.
  20. Really shafted here. Drought back to life. Just 0.30" System Total as of now.
