  1. @CarlislePaWx Thank you very much for your kind words. I'm also grateful to be back.

I was kind of in a bad place personally a couple of months ago and it was negatively impacting my posting. Rather than bring what is THE best sub to a lower standard I proactively decided it was best for me to step aside for a while. Many reached out and expressed concern and for that I say thank you to all.

@Blizzard of 93 Nice to see you're doing your best to keep next week alive. Still not sure if there's sound meteorological reasoning to score, but I swear if anyone on this board can will this thing into us it is you...

Eskimo Joe.  He now stays in the MA forum......and gets trolled pretty hard there.

If you strive at being a good met/hobbyist, you cant let your bias show through like he does.  Really takes away from credibility, and in this sport, credibility is really something that is hard to obtain.  Just look at the MA (and other forums)as to how there is a meteo pecking order of sorts.  Im not here to be "the guy".  I'm just here to have fun n share what I know, and learn along the way.

Edit. Just read the multiple post suggesting Joe and finding it wasn’t him. Lol.

I don't think he's referring to Matt. (Eskimo Joe) I think, if I recall his name was Tony, but that wasn't his screen name. I've been thinking about it since this afternoon and I can't come up with it.

I drive 10 miles past three Giants, two Karns, and a Weis to get to Wegmans every Friday night and usually once in the weekend.

My wife and i have Friday night date night at Weggie's. :)

Since you and i are big baseball guys, we need to get Mike Trout to start posting on here once he comes to Philly in 2 years. Everything I hear about him is that he is a huge weather weenie...

On another person, does anyone know why Ian left American?  Did he get his degree and move on to more important things?  I have not seen him anywhere.  Jerry is still here if anyone remembers him...in the NE sub forum.

No idea. I always wondered if the weenies down there wore him out. He was very good, meaning, he would post it as it was without sugar coating it and some of the weenies would take him to the shed. Between Ian and Matt (zwyts, westminster deathband, deck pic) that sub had 2 of the very best non-met posters around. Ian hardly if ever posts and Deck Pic only posts when snow is imminent.

I remember Collin. I think we went at it a couple times.

    don't remember that one

I remember him, but i don't recall that incident?

there was another guy from southern York county, he was an EMA guy in Maryland. He spent more time in the MA forum then ours but came in on occasion

I remember it but not what it was about. He was somewhat like Colin in that he was always negative and one day he was spouting nonsense and i replied. You quoted me and piggy-backed off of my post and to this day i don't think he has posted once since. :lmao:

Does not ring a bell but I do remember a guy from York pa he would totally piss everyone in the mid Atlantic area off.  I think him and Maytown went at a couple times as well. No sub forums everyone posting together.

Yorkpa25. I totallly went off on him one day. Not one of my finer moments. @sauss06 came in and pulled me out before it got out of control.

Yea I’ve been on here since 08 back when it was eastern, I didn’t post very much for years. I would occasionally post. I can remember some totally opposite of you guys.  I think one was Collin if I’m not mistaken, he was a gem! Lol

Colin from Catawissa. He was a weenie but honestly I thought there were and still are far worse than he was. What pushed everyone away from him was he was ALWAYS negative. He'd be ripping +SN and would complain that it was going to shut off 5 minutes earlier than progged. So instead of getting 2' he'd end up with 23.8" and feel screwed. He wore everyone down with his constant complaining.

I'm a guidance counselor with second job as order clerk at Wegmans lol, wish I could but paying off stuff is all I do now. When we have an enhanced day around here or better, I'll usually call in and set up best I can to find most extreme weather event offers. Actually saw few nice wall clouds and touchdown in Sullivan County years back, but prefer Southern PA east of mountains as it's easiest to see surroundings.

To my dismay, we do severe well down this way. It seems like the epicenter of severe is the Hershey area. I don't know what it is but Hershey/Palmyra/Campelltown gets raked more often than not.

We just got a Wegman's in Lancaster back in the fall. I will not buy groceries anywhere else unless i have to. I absolutely love that store.

You are the most optimistic person on this forum!  The models could show a storm 2000 miles off shore and you would still think there is a chance.  Hopefully your optimism can bring it home. I think it is a long shot at this point. I am talking a major snowfall, not just an advisory type deal.  Even that may be a struggle. Like we always say there is still some time left.

It was disheartening to see the cluster move significantly farther offshore overnight. It's the progressive flow...

Please see my other post above...

I was joking around & I am getting sad that winter tracking is in the 4th quarter!

No I understand...and I made a similar post in the past few days (I think on Saturday) about how depressing it is when you know it's about over. I wasn't being argumentative, I was just saying that I found something else to talk about. :)

We're not just in the 4th quarter...we're in hurry up with 1:10 on the clock down 14...

To play devil's advocate, severe weather is much more fascinating than a weak clipper blowing through. The intricacies of helicity, shear, VBV, instability make or break a system, and the incredible process of huge towers going up and all coming together into crazy weather. Maybe I'm wrong, but mid level snow storms are kinda just run of the mill disturbances with frozen liquid instead of rain. Im expecting this to be unpopular, but I enjoy both.

Have you ever considered being a storm chaser? I know you love severe and often wondered if you'd consider going to tornado alley and having some fun with it.

I post this map & no response ...wow!

I guess that I should just argue about my high temp for today...

Just kidding... see you for the 0z Euro that will hopefully crush us tonight for next week!

I was talking about temperatures on Sunday because...there was nothing else to talk about at the time, and there was a sharp contrast between near 70 temps in NVA and the low 40s in CPA. I (and a few others) were curious to see which model was going to bust horribly on temps)

I'd much rather talk about snow, and I was one of the leaders in talking about the period coming up next week. As @MAG5035 said last night...there is nothing definitive to jump on just yet.

I still remain hopeful for something special next week but until then i see no harm in discussing current weather conditions...
