Sunny and 65. Incredible for mid-June.
Yeah, that sure is on a sunny day.
72 here approaching noon.

Plus, I am not sure complaining is the right word for today, just ob's and comments on their effects. On the not complaining scale, today is a Chamber Day right now. Breezy, sunny and not at all hot.
It really is - perfect day out there! (and another day without excessive heat)

What's the chances one part of our forum is complaining about drought while another flooding come July?

You'd like to think that things even out over time but in truth, it doesn't always work out that way. Really hard to say at this point.
This time of year though can be especially cruel - several years ago in late August, Mount Joy received over 10" of rain in a few hours. I recorded 6.16" in Maytown. My wife and I were at Hersheypark that day and it never rained. So, it absolutely can flood in areas while other areas remained parched.

Really only one area east of the Susquehanna that lost yesterday:
Oh wait...that's where Maytown is.

Maytown Mike reaches out to Marysville Mike and pulls him from the Susky. Marysville travelled 10 miles downstream before he saw the olive branch reaching out to him.
I'm only pulling his a** out if I get more snow than he does. LOL

Lol, snow is serious business, so I might just jump in the Susquehanna if that ever happens!
And that's exactly my point. What MDT got means nothing suddenly.

Lol, it’s all about the official record books for our region.
Jet traffic apparently does not impact rain totals in June!
I understand.
However...the airport is 20 minutes up the road from me. Today they received over 4X the amount of rain that I did. That fact does not make me feel any better about what fell in my yard. I got nowhere near the "official" amount.
Honest question - if we get a snowstorm this winter and MDT got 16" and you got 3", would you be happy?

If this was snow, I would be thrilled that my yard & MDT scored nicely.
If this were snow I would feel the same way I do right now about MDT.
Who. Freaking. Cares.

Final tally here of 1.36”. My new automated station measured 1.26”, for an under-reporting rate of about 7%. Anyone else notice the automated weather stations slightly under measuring when compared to the manual cylinder gauges? Or am I the only loser cross-checking two gauges haha.
Would you believe I finished with 0.34"?
Very, very disappointed.

Rainfall here at work: 0.01" (from station 1/4 mile away) and officially at MU: 0.14" (4.5 miles away)

You hardly ever see a TOR warning come out without any t-storm warning. Radar doesn’t look like it’s on the ground
A SWS for a shower straight to a TOR warning.

SLGT was indeed moved west from this morning - not into the LSV but close for the eastern areas:

Tornado Warning including Goldsboro PA and York Haven PA until 1:45 PM EDT
That escalated quickly - and here comes with it my severe concerns for our area this afternoon.

We are under a Special Weather Statement now for a Gusty Shower. I've never seen that before.

Good to hear! .20" in Maytown. Not much more than a trace here in Conestoga, and looking at radar it's still going to be another hour (or more) until anything of consequence hits here.

Big rains this week in northern PA:

That line appears to be "the line" that I was referring to earlier and concerned that it might be the only show over this way. (which of course is proving to be mostly wrong...although nothing measurable has fallen here at work yet.)

First drops of the day here at the office. Temp is 75 with a dewpoint of 68 at home. Juiced...
-
Some rain now falling in Maytown.
I'm probably going to look incredibly foolish but it still looks to me like a lot of areas in the SE part of our area (much of Lanco, parts of SE York counties) don't really see much if any rain until the front itself arrives later. There just isn't anything moving up from the south/southwest towards those areas.
Am I alone in seeing this?

We go on the watch for the Paweather 540 line this year!
Let's hope so for sure.
Today was the first day of the year that the ITT dewpoint meter reached the level where my glasses fogged up as soon as I walked out the door this morning. The fact that the first occurrence didn't happen until 6/12 is a win.
It's soupy out there and with the sun popping it might get interesting here later on.

Wouldn't be surprised if the SLGT gets moved west somewhat:

Not a lot of heavy in the radar right now...but a slow 1/4 to 1/2 soaker will be good for the grass and corn.
My concern is that this might be trending (for some) from a several rounds of showers that slowly add up kind of deal to a single line later today with winners and losers. Skies have really cleared out here...lots of blue to the west of the river and it's starting to feel more and more like a severe day instead of a "showers and thundershowers" kind of thing.

I haven't made that list in a long time - I don't remember the last time I got more than an inch.
