More rain streaming over the Capitol area...may not be reaching the ground.
Those cells really weakened over the past few scans...right now they've almost dissipated.

Off the schneid. Fire up the mower.
I'll fire up the mower right after I fire someone else for not providing the full weather story. She said that she didn't realize that I wanted another update if it rained.
Sigh.

Drops headed there now maybe?

My wife...
So, my earlier report from her was that we got "drops" - which, to her credit was accurate at the time she sent me that text. She never did follow up with a 2nd text to tell me that it rained shortly after message #1 to the tune of .11".
Thanks, honey.

I just realized that it has not rained at home since May 13th. 24 consecutive days since the last drops fell.

Working from home this morning and the sky reminds me of Alberta Clipper days of yore - the sky is basically "overcast" from haze/smoke with the sun dimmed significantly from it. Many times during clippers it would be snowing with the sun dimly visible through the overcast.

Sun and 74.
Every day in June that's in the 70s/low 80s is one less day that's in the 90s.
Not very profound I realize but it helps me prepare for the upcoming heat better.

He is the Marysville of Lanco!
Today will be day #9 since the last grass mow for me. I cannot recall going 9 days without mowing in the May/June time period since my dad started me mowing at 3 years of age. (okay...slight exaggeration...slight) Thing is, it will likely be another full week now.

Mornin' weather freaks. I bottomed out at a crisp 48 last night. Also added .03" of liquid gold on Saturday to go with my .01" from Friday. Hey, it's the small victories. Another beautiful week on tap but not much in the way of rain. Rinse and repeat.
Amazing how much wetter your area is than mine. You'll probably have to mow twice this week!

Another pleasant week of temps ahead of us, but a little nugget of info - pretty soon, the heat will be on.

53 for the low in Maytown. Yet another gorgeous morning out there.

The key is apparently to predict you get nothing.
I thought about trying that approach but I want to save that for wintertime. LOL

Not sure how beneficial it was rain wise - MDT got .12”. I probably got more but not enough to make a dent if we don’t get rain the next 7-10 days which looks likely.
It's better than nothing though...I was serious about my blowing dirt observation. My white car is now brown from dirt off the field near me. At least you got some form of temporary relief.

Congratulations to those who received beneficial rains this weekend. For here, this carries a little extra sting as my area was forecast to do "well" but nothing fell. And CTP has dry weather here through at least next Saturday.
At this rate I'm going to lose my crown as mowing king...

Temp down to 64 with a stiff breeze. Very low visibility here from blowing dust/dirt from the neighboring farm fields.
-
Welp...
I was already in the Moderate drought area back on Thursday...where do I go from here? Going to finish the weekend without a single drop. Crazy.

The storm right at Lewisburg looks like it is a good hail producer - shocked it’s not warned
All of yesterday's rain missed me just to my east - today looks like it might miss just to my west.

I can confirm actual rain fell from the sky in batch one, to the tune of .01”, perhaps .015” ha. First rainfall measurement from the new acurite station! Next batch looks more potent. We shall see.
Somehow, someway...nary a drop of rain here today. That last impressive batch disintegrated on arrival.

Official high today at MU was 96!
Last year's hottest temp was 96.

That cluster of showers went right over me earlier and I can confirm it only laid down a trace.
More coming at us- let's see what happens...

Drove home from work through this strange wet stuff falling from the sky...got home to dry, parched conditions here.

I grew up in Washington Boro and learned "very unscientifically" from older, "wiser" Boro residents that storms followed the river. As I grew up and got into Met, I realized that some of that was um...not so accurate. Today's cell came right down the Susky. My son lives in Mount Joy and they got next to nothing, Maytown was JUST inside the "win zone" today.
