MU's thoughts for the weekend:
Despite recent showers and #thunderstorms, northern MD and much of southeastern PA are still being plagued by moderate drought conditions. However, a widespread 2-3" of rain from tomorrow through Sunday evening will put an abrupt end to the drought!

We went on a 1.5 hour walk from 5-630 along the river lol - was partly sunny!
Yeah round after round of rain just get moving west to east over the southern half of Adams, York and Lancaster counties. More or less the Rt. 30 corridor was the line between dry with some breaks in the clouds and a chilly rain.

Only a T here for rain. May rain a decent amount every day for a while starting Friday (more than a T.) The Nam and GFS are true soakers Sat night and all day Sunday and have rain chances into next week as the ULL pivots over.

The GFS and NAM that you describe seem to go directly against what CTP is thinking - they have me at Partly Sunny and warm on Sunday with a chance of showers after 3pm.
CTP's updated forecast includes a major change for Sunday. This morning's forecast was Partly Sunny with showers after 3pm and a high of 72.
Latest forecast is Rain. High of 63.

I will take the under on that though it is close for farther East areas. But 3 PM...not supported at all.
I'll go with 11:07:32 in Maytown.

That is....too much work, sorry Mike,
I have a few big projects that I'm working on.
In fairness, I left for a couple of hours to go to the gym with my wife so that broke up the day nicely.

Everything that I'm hearing is that the rain won't arrive east of the river until the afternoon hours. We'll find out soon!

A pleasantly surprising .7" of total rainfall here, to go along with some marble-seized hail. A nice precursor to the wet'n'wild weekend ahead.
Wow, did you ever smoke me! More than doubled in fact.
I had a very long day at the office (15 hours) and didn't leave for home until after 11pm last night. It rained nearly nonstop from 3pm until sometime after I had left...it was still a moderate rainfall when I left for home. By the time I got to Columbia the roads were dry. Pulled in my driveway and the sky was mostly clear. (but it did rain again overnight)

Fake summer earlier this month makes it worse IMO.
A lot of people in the office are complaining and thought that this type of weather was done. It's amazing how many people think that it's a steady rise from winter to summer and that we don't go through the ups and downs of transitional periods.

One thing I will stake an opinion on...if it rains all day Sunday (or at least a lot of a rain and a full day thick cloud deck) I would tend more thinking temps stay in the 50's for a lot of us.
Yep that makes a of sense. I'm rooting for that scenario.

I do not see any model that has it warm on Sunday but maybe they are forecasting beyond the modelogy I am doing right now. Ha. The Euro is a rain out as well. I had not checked that. Mid 50's for highs.
MU is in the "rain camp" for the daytime hours Sunday with highs in the mid 60s.

.32" of rain fell yesterday afternoon and overnight in Maytown.
.76" fell in Conestoga.

If it rained this afternoon my gauge didn’t measure it. Had .25” this am.
Closest rain gauge to my office is at .48" for the day" but only .16" has fallen at home. All this afternoon.

If only the snow gods would be so easy to anger, as the lightning, thunder, and rain gods surely took offense to your morning post.

"T'ed up in Columbia" The frozen reports are flying in fast and furious today.
Temp dropped down to 50 at the height of the storm but has rebounded to 55 now. Not much if any wind so the hail did not drift.

The cell that produced hail here at work and at home is going nuts SW of Lancaster city right now. That area is getting smoked.

now you're just showing off we just had a good ole fashion rain
I was caught off guard by the lightning - multiple close cloud to ground strikes.
Just now, Mount Joy Snowman said:There are multiple mPing reports right by my house for 1/4 to 1/2” hail. Will have to ask the wifey.
I was in Columbia heading to Conestoga and the hail was significant - I was driving so no good measurements but the car was getting torpedoed. Best hail display I've seen in some time.

@Itstrainingtime looks like you should finally get your rain in Maytown with these cells currently moving in.
I'll say! Hail, heavy rain, vivid lightning and thunder. Just arrived here at work and it's impressive.

i should clarify. it definitely rained overnight as everything was wet this morning. But around 6 am it pounded for about 10-15 minutes
Rain wasn't even on my radar ( ) this morning...I just looked back at the loop from earlier this morning and it took a LOT of skill to miss out on the fun...there was the tiniest gap in a line that came through earlier and that tiny gap found my casa. I'm offsite today and just checked in with a couple of people in the office...they were like "duh, it rained." Made me feel even worse. LOL

According to MU, we might have envelopes falling from the skies later today!
A few showers are currently impacting southeastern PA & northern MD, but they’ll become more widespread this afternoon & evening after a brief lull late this morning. As the atmosphere becomes more unstable, some rumbles of thunder & small mail may accompany the heaviest showers.
