I am going to go with 33 for you tonight.  We shall see how close I get.  28 for Pillow....34 MDT.   Freeze watch in MD for counties bordering York and west.

Agree - if I had to hedge higher or lower than 36, I'd take the lower. I'll say 34.4. :)

Despite covering stuff we still got damage.  I suspect the ground temps were in the 20's.

I'm sorry to hear that, very unfortunate. Right now CTP only has us getting down to 36 again tonight and the rest of the week it's 40s and 50s. Might be some scattered frost tonight but it looks likely that we'll miss any freezes.

I had thought you would have scored more but still not too shabby.  I bet we see some varied totals like THV reporting a crazy 2+".   The line really sparked up for central eastern LSV.

Radar looks promising for me to tack on some more. More surprising to me is how we missed the storminess - other than the one big strike it's been stratiform light to moderate rainfall from the start. Very beneficial. Hope you get some more too.

  4. Interesting - CTP's P&C last night for Maytown today showed a high of 88. Now it's showing 82. Seems very odd that consecutive days appear as if they'll be significantly "cooler" than originally forecasted. That usually happens on days when precip arrives early or clouds hold on longer than anticipated...not so much on sunny days.

At Anchorage Alaska Airport they measured 24" of snow on the ground. That is day 130 in a row of 20" or more on the ground. They will probably get a few more days. Previous record was 113 in 2004.

My family that has been living up there since the 1960s have been telling me that this is the worst winter they've had in years. There have been a lot of very mild winters with BN snowfall, but this year they've had a "real Alaska" winter.

You keep great records, do you recall the last time we were in a drought in April?

Easy answer - I'll never ever forget the great drought of April 1988. Orioles started the year losing their first 21 games in a row. :(

I don't have records nor do I recall such a prolonged dry spell during this part of the year. Never.

  7. (1/2) Northern MD and York, Adams, Lancaster, and Chester Co's have been placed in the "Moderate Drought" category on today's U.S. #drought monitor. After another warm and dry day tomorrow with highs in the 80s, a cold front will trigger showers and #thunderstorms on Saturday..

(2/2) The front should traverse northern PA and southeastern PA from west-to-east late Saturday afternoon into Saturday night. Due to limited moisture and instability, the #severeweather threat appears low, but I expect a widespread 0.5-1.0" of much-needed rain!

My brotha, MDT has not been above 86 and neither has MU, which is a relatively warm spot for the LSV.  It's likely most of us have zero 90 degree days in April.  Now, if you're talking the Canderson hotbox, well, that may be a different story ha.

You are right we should be back in the top spot after Saturday.  However, to take 4 degrees off and drop out of the top 20 from there would require an average temp of ~42 over the final week, which I don't see happening.  More than likely, we average somewhere in the 50-55 range during that period and knock a degree or two off, landing somewhere solidly in the top 10 and perhaps top five.  Like you said, the records are tightly bunched at that point.  I will now stop disagreeing with people for the day haha.

PS-I hope we do not start talking about Canderson's Hotbox....FWIW,

Sounds like a reprise is in order here:

    Who can hit the 90s?

When no one else comes close?

Make it so emphatic that it happens more than once -

    The Canderson can

    Oh, the Canderson can...

The Canderson can cause he lives in the hotbox

    That downtown Harrisburg is

Just bad timing as you're now stealing all the rain from everyone.

    Oh wait ....

    Yeah it's absolutely brutal.

There was a decent part of the county (mainly SW of MU) that had even less than that. My office location was under .5" for the season.
