Digging through the closet for jackets and sweatshirts for temps in the mid to upper 60s?? Get out of here with that nonsense MU
Low was 60 here. First bout of real-deal humidity looks to settle in for the weekend ugh. Looking forward to copious H2O though. I think we'll all make out pretty well.
I also agree about the rain - I'm stoked. I think most will get at a minimum 2" by Sunday, and some of us at least double that. With a trigger looming plus very high PWATs, there will be some tropical deluges to be sure .

I MIGHT dig through my basement for a sweatshirt if it's in the mid to upper 30s...maybe...

In fact, the June 22nd record low maximum, or "coldest high," temperature of 67°F from 1952 at Millersville may be challenged, tied, or even broken on Thursday. First, we experienced record-dry conditions in May. Next came the toxic smoke from Canadian wildfires and worst air quality in over two decades. That was followed by severe weather and a confirmed tornado in York County last week. Now, we may experience record-cool weather and be digging through the closet for jackets and sweatshirts.
How about that!
One thing that might ruin (hmm, why did I go there) this unique opportunity is the timing of the rain - with the slug of moisture out of here early in the morning tomorrow, I wonder if that will allow temps to rise a few extra degrees. Regardless, cool tomorrow followed by very humid conditions the rest of the week with tropical downpours looks likely.

point and click has rain right through weekend https://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?x=246&y=203&site=ctp&zmx=&zmy=&map_x=246&map_y=203
Yeah, MU is thinking showers and storms are a "lock" every day now through Sunday. (rain arriving later today/evening, then showers/storms rest of the week)

And here are Elliott's thoughts - doesn't sound like he thinks getting water will be an issue:

Here's WPC's forecast this morning - it is a slight reduction from their Tuesday PM outlook:

Partly/mostly cloudy and 80 at 4:30pm.

Yep. Recovery time is a real thing. It's amazing how as you get older even just being on your feet all day and doing basic tasks, especially when combined with alcohol intake ha, is enough to make you sore for a few days.
Just wait another 15-20 years and compare notes.

Might depend on backdoor front currently located up by Erie into New York. We need to keep that dry air and suppression away

From MU - the aforementioned front has come through already (at least Lanco)
(1/2) A backdoor cold front moved through the Lower Susquehanna Valley overnight. Behind the front, moist, easterly flow off the Atlantic has caused skies to turn mostly cloudy. The easterly flow and cloudier conditions will persist over the next three days..
(2/2) As a result, high temps will struggle to exceed the upper 70s this afternoon and mid 70s tomorrow. Easterly wind gusts up to 20 mph this afternoon and 25-30 mph Wednesday will make it feel even cooler outside. Beneficial rain comes Wednesday night - Thursday.

66 for the low here as well. Your comment could be taken many ways. I will choose to view it under a meteorological umbrella haha. But yes, rain......it's coming. I'm pretty pooped from throwing our annual summer party on Saturday. We did the slow cleanup on Sunday while imbibing in the "leftovers" ha. It was a great weekend but man it takes it out of ya.
My comment was specific to the weather and I gave no thought to other wet "activities"...
Surprised myself that my mind didn't go elsewhere.

The RWS says a 0 percent chance of rain any day is a risk not worth taking. But the GFS has consistently been bringing rain in tomorrow afternoon. But tomorrow night counts as tomorrow as well.
Rain often moves in earlier than forecast as well...
Shame snow doesn't act the same way. (sometimes it does)

The GFS has you all wet later tomorrow and tomorrow night. CMC and Icon, and Meso's a bit slower. Whether tomorrow or Thursday, that seems to be our best bet for steady rain area wide.
I have not looked at models lately and have been solely relying on local forecasts that I trust as well as the RWS. When they contradict I question. LOL

I think a lot of the final tallies will be based off tomorrow as the rest of the rain shown on models is spotty at best. Someone could be flooding and others parched.
Kinda interesting - CTP has me with a 0% chance of rain tomorrow and a very wet day on Thursday.
Edit: I guess I shouldn't say 0% but they have no mention of rain in my forecast for tomorrow.

66 for the overnight low. Currently overcast and humid. Hoping everyone gets wet this week.

I think it is a mix as it is super smoky down at the surface. It never really cleared out today from the smoke so clouds may have doubled down on the blanket. At the surface this is the worst it has been....watery eyes, sore throat smoky. Smells like someone's house is burning. it was clear down in West Virginia and Virgina earlier today.
What you experienced today sounds similar to over here a couple of weeks ago, and what I experienced today sounds similar to what you described from over there a couple of weeks ago.

All time record June high tmrw likely - good times.
A chilly 98 down in Houston - our oldest son moved there back in March. He complained about the heat around here...I've been LOL'ing him recently.

Younger me would be headed to Giant Centre tonight for the late-night trophy lift watch party, not sleep, and go into work tomorrow thrashed.
Old me doesn't have the energy to stay up to even watch the game.
I hate the Craps, but the Bears used to be the baby Flyers and that's enough for me.

it was spectacular on the other side of the suskie. Blue sky all afternoon. Didn't notice smoke, but then again we had a chicken BBQ
There has definitely been a hazy tint in the sky at times but nothing significant over this way. Certainly nothing like a couple of weeks ago. It was a spectacular weekend!

It feels like a summer days from childhood - it's getting hot and with the faint layer of smoke the sky has that classic hazy look to it. 78 at 10:15.

Smoke is quite bad today - otherwise a very perfect summer day.
2 hours ago, Bubbler86 said:It is high level here but making it seem like evening. Keeping temps in the mid 70's
Did not "seem" bad at all here. Sky was partially blue with a white tint but it did not seem noticeable while working outside this afternoon. Not complaining.
High here was 81.

72 with filtered sun. Breeze is helping to move the smoke around. LOL

It's down slightly from their PM map yesterday. Entire eastern part of PA was in bright red then.
