  1. Enough to make hardypalmguy cry since he will be on the colder side of that gradient.
  2. I am not talking 50-75 miles, I am thinking 5-10 miles will make a significant difference based on the 0Z/6Z model runs.
  3. Models seem to want to split Ottawa County in half and it looks like I am in the wrong half. I guess we will have to wait and see since the difference of a few miles might make a significant difference with the snow line.
  4. GRR is thinking some higher amounts also but held off on any advisories/watches also. Farther north...roughly north of a Grand Haven to Mount Pleasant line, we`re looking at all snow. Decent fgen was noted in the 850- 700mb layer from 18z Thursday to 00z Friday and this roughly coincides with the trowal axis. It`s certainly possible we could see 6-8 inches of snow in this area prior to the snow ending Thursday night.
  5. Since Beavis brought up puddles, I had 1.14" of rain today.
  6. Fruit farmers are not going to like this one bit. Maple syrup is also going to have a really short season if this holds.
  7. You just described my winter so far this year and I can say it is nice in short periods and fairly pathetic at how fast it melts. I'd take your second scenario for sure.
  8. That wind would be brutal at those temperatures.
  9. Shows that it doesn't have to be wal to wall cold, just cold enough at the right time to get snow.
  10. Depends on whether Bastardi is making the forecast.
  11. GRR is over +8 for the month. Still haven't recorded a below normal day for the month. Probably will change today but we will see.
  12. I'd even say GRR did quite well given the model mayhem also.
  13. The pattern was always right but the sensible weather never followed. Who could forget that.
  14. If I recall, there was a lot of complaints on WWBB that winter.
  15. Ended up with about 6” here. Only a few miles from 8” or more
  16. I hadn't heard he retired. He was writing AFD's not that long ago. That is a loss for the office for sure.
  17. yeah, a little odd for them but they do tend to go with the most GRR centric model
  18. Last night's snow across Allegan County, MI had a report of 10" in 6 hours. Nice little band that went through for sure.
  19. 3.0" from 0.14" of liquid at GRR. That isn't not the concrete/slush many places had yesterday. Not a lot but at least it is white outside now.
  20. Don't you mean weakening which seems to be the trend?
  21. Ride the Canadian (or whatever model currently says snow). If the GFS is a let down surely there is a model somewhere to give the desired outcome.
  22. Sure didn't feel that snowy with the constant warms up that followed the larger snows. Also, interesting how Grand Rapids was below normal and Muskegon and Lansing had their 11th warmest.
  23. Agree, 24"+ completely gone except for the largest drifts.
