  1. Good thing they mention only a relaxation of the pattern, not a flip.
  2. Looks like it will get bad, but for how long? As I stated before as long as the respected mets and bloggers on American Weather do not amend their good to great winter forecasts no need to worry. Even if the pig shows up for 3 full weeks we can put together another solidly above average snowfall winter.
  3. A lot of well respected mets and posters on this site have predicted a snowier than average winter. Until we see winter forecasts being amended here I am not concerned about what Cranky says. Although guidance does look somewhat bleak for a few weeks, that only leads us to mid December, so a lot of time for things (the PAC) to better itself. I still think 2001 2002, with the great winter forecast and obvious bust, automatically manipulates our minds to think a repeat is inevitable (tempting the weather GODS with these predictions)
  4. Yup, buy 2001 2002 will always take the cake due to high winter expectations for an epic winter and only 1 snow event. Terrible all around.
  5. I remember we were supposed to change to rain being on the coast. Was eventually heavy snow and 34.5 degrees, but never changed over. Shoveling was heck.
  6. Correct. 1 snowstorm the entire winter but it was big. Got 1 foot in coastal Sw CT. I believe the winter was more dry than anything.
  7. Was 1994 1995 bad due to lack of moisture/storms than warm air? At least we had that 1 big snowstorm.
  8. I used to think this due to 1989 and 2011. However 2002, 1995 and 2012 had November snows and they were good to great winters. I think its random luck and the following winter determined by the background state.
  9. 2015 was actually a top 15 winter for CT. Its just that Boston,s 1 to 2 footers ended up 6 to 12 ers here.
  10. Thanks. 2001 2002 stings in my memory of a predicted great winter that fell through. However, I am conscious that knowledgeable members on this board stated that the background state of this winter is completely different that the aforementioned year. If we do go through phases 3 through 5 hopefully its temporary.
  11. Amazed that the EURO weeklies went that warm for mid December. I wonder if that is temporary
  12. From NWS updates winter forecast. Is the Low pressure in the GOA the dreaded one eye pig? http://www.weathernationtv.com/news/updated-winter-outlook-from-noaas-climate-prediction-center/
  13. 6.5 in Easton CT. My father measured 6 in Fairfield CT.
  14. Ended up with 6.5 here in Easton. Great event even for CT coast for this time of year. I hate it when people report a snow total to NWS before it stops snowing and never updates it. Its showing 6.8 in Darien but 3.8 in Norwalk. Towns right next to each other because the Norwalk reporter never updated. Any Norwalk or Stamford people on the board? If so what did u get?
  15. CT peeps. Norwalk Fairfield Greenwich what did u get? 6.5 in Easton CT
  16. Hey CT peeps. What are snow totals in Norwalk, Greenwich, Fairfield etc?
  17. 6.5 in Easton CT. 29 Still sleet snow mix
  18. 6.5 in Easton CT. 29 Still sleet snow mix.
  19. I can confirm about 50% sleet here in Easton CT. Approx 6 inches on the ground.
  20. I hope the new GFS has more storms in sight.
