  1. Hopefully the 6z GFS gets some company with some other models supporting it today for the chance next Friday.
  2. The rest of the 18z GFS run shows the potential of the pattern if all goes well after this warm up & reshuffle this coming week. The GFS run has a couple of Winter storm opportunities & ends well at day 16 with a good look. It’s fantasy land of course, but it sure would be fun to be lining up potential events to track. Hopefully we are busy tracking on here next week & beyond…
  3. The 18z GFS says that we might be back to tracking a Winter storm chance for later next week…
  4. The 0z and 6z GFS both show a storm potential way out in fantasy land around January 8th. We can only hope at this point that we are back in business right away when the pattern turns more favorable. Lots of time of course, but it’s better to see this showing up as a possibility instead of a continuing torch.
  5. It looks like we warm to above normal temperatures on Thursday. This warm up should last for a week or so. There is light at the end of the tunnel. The last few days, the ensembles have been showing a turn to a more favorable pattern beginning between the 7th & 10th. There is fairly good agreement on the GEFS, EPS & Canadian ensembles to have some confidence that a pattern with chances for Winter weather should be underway for the second week of January.
  6. The models are slowly coming around to the idea of a light possible event on the 27th.
  7. Yes & at least we are not facing a snow shut out heading into January thanks to yesterday.
  8. These 2 days could have been really amazing if some of the looks for a major snowstorm that the various models gave us late last week for a few days actually came to fruition. At least most of us had an Advisory level snow yesterday & many saw snow flakes flying this morning. MDT is officially on the board with 2 inches of snow and they are now really only 2 inches below normal for the snow season to date.
  9. Actually still some flurries flying to make it feel festive!
  10. 23 in Marysville with the sun coming out & and the light snow has ended.
  11. Unfortunately it looks like precip is lifting north & east rapidly. I am going to enjoy the snowflakes while I can…!
  12. 27 in Marysville with light snow falling & wind is blowing it sideways.
  13. Any signs of secondary low development near Delaware this morning?
  14. Multiple Reports in the Mid Atlantic thread saying flipping to snow now in areas just to the west of Baltimore & DC.
  15. Here are the 9 am Obs from CTP. 3 in Pittsburgh & 40s in the LSV!
  16. There appears to be a little bit of back building on the radar near the WV panhandle. Some models have been popping a secondary low near Delaware on runs the last few days, so we may see some precip enhancement near the LSV this morning.
