  1. You must have more oaks in your area. Could be pretty pasty if it materializes, especially in the valley.
  2. Yeah, everything is dead so might as well bring it on.
  3. 25.7. Multiple hard freezes now and everything is looking brown, bare, and Novemberesque.
  4. Potential and probabilities is where we should be at this point rather than locking things in. Trends are favorable but southern/ coastal/ low elevation areas could still get the rug pulled out from under them.
  5. 1k comes in handy during marginal early and late season events. If the track cooperates you should do pretty well.
  6. 69/67. About .85 on the day. Winds are brisk. Leaves continue to come down.
  7. I'm 145 feet and further southwest and have 5 readings at or below 32. I would think you would have had at least 1 or 2 by now.
  8. I have had 4 mornings below freezing including a 29 here. Definitely mild overall but the frost/ freeze timing seemed pretty normal around here. Edit: actually 5 lows below freezing
  9. Mixture of bare, brown, colorful and green depending on species here. Nicest color overall seemed to be just before the big winds last week around here.
  10. Leaves down all over my neighborhood. Can't be great for the foliage locally.
  11. Still quite gusty here but was worse abuut 15 minutes ago.
  12. How was NW CT? I was up in the Quabbin Reservoir area today in MA, it was decent but a bit inconsistent.
  13. 48.6 and light rain, about.35 on the day. Winds gusting to 5 mph.
  14. Hopefully I get some good deform action and sit right under the pivot, how are we looking for ratios and rain growth? Hopefully I we get some fatty drops with puddles stackin up quickly back here in the DV. Less wind back this way should help with accumulation and measuring.
  15. Color have started picking up some locally. Trees looked better here than anywhere else I saw today from 91 South to 84 west down to route 8 in SW CT. Nothing amazing but definitely some areas of solid good color. Perhaps the additional rains and a hard freeze have helped a bit locally as well.
  16. PWS on the street next to me has 1.33 total. Rain was quite heavy earlier and has been steady and persistent since.
  17. I watched the temperature drop from 87 to 68 as I drove northward through Connecticut during this afternoon.
  18. The first wave of change was briefly nice and then went brown, I would say we're only around 15% change in my immediate area so they're still potential but right now it's a lot of green and brown with just a few brighter patches here and there.
  19. Feels like we're waiting for the next wave of color after the initial changes. Color does seem to come in waves which are often weather related.
  20. 1. Rocktober snowbomb: 13.5 inches of destructive cement on leafed trees, massive tree damage/ power outages. 2. June 2011 tornado : Passed just north, impacted family and friends. Saw the aftermath firsthand. 3. Blizzard Nemo: 2 feet, crazy wind and drifts, epic death band was worse just to my south. 4. July 2015 Maine microburst. Damaging microburst sent us home early from our vacation at the family cabin in Mount Vernon Maine. 5. Feb 5 2001 snowstorm: forecasted 6-10 inches on the day of storm, got 2 feet in 12 hours. Honorable Mention: Jan 11 blizzard, Hurricane Gloria.
