Yes there has been a subtle shift south and colder on guidance but we would really need another 50 miles or so, at least as far as Connecticut is concerned.

Probably one of those deals where we have shallow cold air that mixes out once the cloud cover comes in and the wind picks up from the south. It's not great having the low track to our north but perhaps at the onset of things we could get a mix or even a light coating

Yeah you're right Southeast CT it's pretty much the worst place in CT for snow. You're in a way better spot now. The snowiest area of the state in northwest Connecticut actually gets some decent leftover LES squalls and upslope with a few towns averaging like 80" + inches per year. I've never experienced a true lake-effect snowstorm before but have always wanted to. Once in a while I may get a few leftover squalls but usually they don't make it past the Berkshires.

CT kind of depends on the location as there is a lot of variance. I average close to 50" per year where I am. Retention can be an issue and it's feast or famine. I was out in Cooperstown New York a couple of weeks ago for the first time and I was impressed with the area.

Snowcover is back down to piles and patches here. I haven't lost it completely since the early December storm but have come pretty close. By later today it may be back down to piles only.

Yes we got lucky up here with a stationary band dumping on the Dec 1-3 storm. I drive through the state quite frequently and this is definitely one of those years where most of the continual snow cover has been up near BDL and points north. I had about 50 to 60% snow cover on Christmas Day and nearly 100% on New Year's Day for the holidays. Other years southwestern areas have done better, especially up in those hills near where you are located. Definitely a nice set up being at 600+ feet but being so close to the ocean.

I'm in the north central valley in Enfield and have 23.6.

The northern half of southern New England into southern portions of central New England have done really well. Like you said, everyone else is just doing okay. Far southern areas that average the least snow have seen the least snow.

Just got out from 3 hours in the movies. Landscape transformed by sleet/snow during that time. Roads are a mess.

Looks like a couple weeks of Pacific puke driving our weather with a congrats Raindancewx. I'd rather have a January thaw first part of the month and rebuild the pattern for peak climo.

He was posting yesterday in the NNE thread so I'm sure everything's fine it's a busy time of year.

I'd say about 10 miles east of the river was where the real fun began but what's 10 miles among friends. I'm 2 miles east of the river and it was a solid above average winter but nothing spectacular.

Well the legend just says 80 + so those highest hills in northwest Connecticut are like 80 to 90 whereas southern Vermont is up into the 100s in areas.
