  1. Yeah, that one i remember reading. 2001 was before my time of evening knowing what an AFD was. But 2005 i remember seeing something like "here we go...this kind of storm only happens once or twice in a forecaster job" something like that @40/70 Benchmark The duration of that storm was something i've never seen since. Nearly 60 hours is pretty spot on. I remember snow began early Sunday and the last flakes flying Wednesday morning just after midnight.
  2. cmon i think you got like 3.5..thats better than yesterdays 1.7, no? cheer up buttercup
  3. If this season turns out to be a rat that will be 5 out of the last 6 that were either well below average or straight up Ratters. 20-21 was the only good season since 17-18. If i get into the 20s this season, i'd consider that to be a win. Sad shit...
  4. Updated select snowfall totals across the area. Ill be working on all the state and regional maps tonight and tomorrow once the storm winds down and all the reports come in. Thanks for all the reports so far.
  5. thanks man, you may be JP of the state, or at least close to it.
  6. same 1.8" final. probably the highest impact 1.8" of snow + mixed pcp can cause. 28 and freezing rain. if anyones got any reports send them my way, anywhere in SNE you can always DM me as well
  7. Somehow were still snowing with sleet mixed in. id call it a 50/50 mix
  8. 3" is solid though for this storm, you did well. seeing lots of reports of 2-3" in E/SE CT
  9. still all snow here, but the grim reaper of taint is knocking and he demands to come in.
  10. I feel your pain man. It's coming up on exactly 2 years since we had our last warning event/6" snowfall. I feel like one good 10-14" solid storm would really soothe the soul right now. Feels like we've been pulling teeth just to get an inch or three
  11. Gonna be game over here pretty soon. Measured 1.5" at 9AM. Light snow currently.
  12. back in my day...schools would be closed just like they are today. And im talking early 2000s, this aint nothin new. Plus the roads are shit with temps in the mid 20s with sleet and freezing rain incoming.
  13. Snowing pretty good here now. Visibility dropping and flake size improving rapidly. CC shows the mix line around the south shore of LI and curling up into extreme SE CT atm.
  14. They should be imo, 1" at start of school time is irrelevant for this storm. Temps are in the mid 20s and with another 1-3" on the way with sleet and freezing rain on top of that and then ending as some snow, it's the right call. Not a delay type situation. If this were march it was like 32/33F wet snow that mostly accumulated on grass it would be a different story, so im not surprised at all.
