  1. That was the implication from the start from Dr. Dewsh. Glad i never got invested in this thing at all, never stood a chance imo. And it's going...going...gone! It's outta here! Way over the green monster into the parking lot behind the trees down the sewer and into the atlantic The ens mean cut back from 1-2" to just a few tenths for this first system yet the total run mean has increased quite a bit, so thats good. GEFS/GEPS are similar
  2. I dunno it's awful when its too much wind and powder, 2003 and 2005 i managed 10-15" in both and it looked like it snowed about 4-6" with bare grass showing and random 3 foot drifts. And its not like it was .25/hr for 48 hours, there was a six hour period or so there with 1-3"/hr
  3. A big overrunning WAA type of event with a huge uniform precip shield is my favorite. Like PDII was one of the best, everyone wins and i dont really care about the wind
  4. Such stark differences at 500 with only a 114hr lead. The GEM is on a whole nother planet and hasn't wavered, same with ICON...though that thing sucks usually the GEM is at least in the conversation.
  5. Today is the 15 year anniversary of one of CTs biggest snowstorms on record. BDL #1 all time with 24". And overall probably the 2nd biggest (for CT in general) in the past 30 years. Just finished redoing all these maps for accuracy and to include Lower Northeast view with climo sites. One of the most perfect radar evolutions for SNE and especially CT. This storm is actually the only storm i've done that has a 40"+ contour other than 1888. Savoy, MA 40.5", Florida 33", North Haven 30.5" https://www.jdjweatherconsulting.com/jan-11-12-2011 Contours only
  6. you know whats worse. BDR. Only two 20" or more. and those include 16". 2013 30" #1 all time and 2003 #2 all time 20". Never recorded anything greater than 20" besides those two and nothing 16"+ since 2000.
  7. yea AIENS as well, after we get this first turd out of the way, 6Z GFS was pretty sweet in clown range
  8. Watch this... 20"+ Jan 11-12th, 2011 Feb 8-9th, 2013 That's it 16"+ Feb 5th, 2001 Mar 4-6th, 2001 Feb 16-17th, 2003 Feb 1-3rd, 2021 And the two above, that's it Isn't that wild the difference, Taunton is like the snow capital of big ones compared to here. And we probably average the same amount of snow in a season, or close to it.
  9. My first thought is you might have a thing for CoastalWx
  10. Yep. Besides a few rogue runs of the operational GFS every model and ensembles want nothing to do with this. Maybe we see a light-mod event, maybe, but if you're looking for a consolidated full blown nor'easter from this, you'll have to keep looking.
  11. Oh ok, So who does it say started this thread?
  12. So does this mean Wolfie is not gonna see this entire thread because he has you blocked?
  13. Feb 4th 94? Thats the last one, you can see the placeholder is there
  14. lol thank you. I even use it all the time to look back at a storm or season real quick or to filter for regions/amounts. I still update the site almost daily with new things and when theres a big addition or update i keep a running log of that. So if you ever want to see whats new/added you can check that out. This is always a work in progress and i have a lot of plans for 2026. Including (not limited to), revising seasonal snowfall maps + 95-99 seasons, adding Tri-State to seasonal snowfall, more historic level storms pre-1994, updating all historic storms and including "Lower Northeast" wide view maps and adding N. MA and S. NJ only events that didn't make the archive...and more. I'm almost done with 94-95 season and should have that completed within the next week, that's what im working on right now. Then the main archive will be totally complete. If you or anyone else ever sees any major mistakes or dead links let me know. There's over 400 unique pages on the site so it can be hard to keep everything clean, organized and working properly.
  15. yep thats another one that i always think of, too low again CT/MA and really low for NH/VT Theres definitely some missing ones on that list, theres no way Feb 5th, 2001 or Mar 4-6, 2001 isnt a Cat 1 or 2. I get the formula but there is far lesser events that still scraped the big cities like new york that made that list. This ones gotta be the worst. NYC got zero snow from this. As well as most of CT and all of MA outside the berkshires. So this one is super overdone for tri-state/sne
  16. this is the final PNS from BOX on Feb 13th
  17. 34 in East Windsor? Every town surrounding it had reports of 22-25" including BDL. I didn't see anything like that looking through all the available data. that map includes every possible report i could find from cocorahs, COOP and the PNS which is what i go off of and i think is far more realistic and accurate than the NESIS map which has none of CT above 30" which is ridiculous.
  18. Yeah i was just looking at the radar loop and it's like hitting a wall at the RI/MA boarder. That was a very anomalous event overall. https://www.jdjweatherconsulting.com/mar-7-8-2013
  19. Thats true but theres still a noticeable hole. I dont think it means anything but its interesting to see how that area keeps getting screwed. Yeah, i just did the same thing, looking back at 12"+ events for SNE. It's actually not as bad as i thought it would be, there's many RI crushers...actually in the past 10-15 years, that area certainly got more crush jobs than anywhere WOR
