  1. Still sticking with that F grade from last season? Really only a 14-15" delta from last season to 20-21 which you proclaimed as solid. This one puts last season to shame.
  2. No thundersnow with 2/1/21, at least no reports of it that i recall seeing during the event. Last time we had widespread thundersnow in CT was Feb 9th 2017 and Mar 7th 2018. For a lot of areas west of 91 in New Haven and Fairfield ctys that was the biggest event since Feb 13. Just got finished remaking all the events for the 20-21 season if anyone's interested @WxWatcher007 you can find them here:
  3. There's so many "normies" that have been saying "we've had a really good winter" or "we've been very lucky this winter". For the vast majority of the population, probably >90%, that hate snow, these statements are true. But for us, myself included, this feels like what the average person would call SAD...it's just the exact inverse.
  4. 20-30% chance of >1" over the next 16 days for here in southern CT. Brutal. Most of SNE in the 20-50% for just an inch. During peak snowfall climo, doesn't get worse than this. Winter 01-02 continues...
  5. -17 in Wilmington Vermont in Jan 2003. Went snowmobiling that day and let's just say it was the opposite of fun. Memorable though
  6. Here's where CT is to date. This is the first one i've made for this season. There was really no reason to do it other than to highlight the utter futility we are experiencing. Most of southern coastal CT and low elevation towns have only had one measurable snowfall to date which was Dec 11-12th. Generally south of 84 is around 4" or less, 84-north is around 5-12" and the NW hills in the 12-18 range. To date this is probably the worst winter to date since 2006-2007, Which was also really brutal and didn't experience its first widespread significant snowfall (and lots of sleet) until V-day. Reports are from here, CoCoRaHs, and official climate sites. BDR - 0.8" BDL - 9.4"
  7. Congrats on tying the record today for latest first measurable in NYC. Tomorrow breaks it.
  8. I think you're thinking of 2002, there wasnt an xmas storm in the 90s that gave alb 3 feet. And xmas 02 was around a 20"er for them But i dont think its that storm either way, Looks like jan 26-27 15 to me
  9. And if it wasn't for their biggest snowfall in history, it would have been one of the worst winters ever for snowfall, probably top 5 with just 5.4"
  10. Horrible, feel dirty evening having to do this but here's your snowfall totals for Wednesday the 25th. Ultster and Sullivan were under a warning for 5-8 and "heavy mixed precipitation". They got 1-3 then rain..
  11. What a temperature gradient...low 50s near the shore and mid 30s at 84, and rain everywhere. Impressive
  12. Couldn't even get it to snow today, let alone a coating or anything above 0.1. Best we had was mainly rain with wet snow mixed in at 37F. Took a drive up the hill in Hamden from 0FT to 650FT. The temperature and sensible weather impact was pretty extreme today going up in elevation. At 0-100FT it was mostly rain with some snow mixed in at 37F. Dropped to 35F at 200-300FT with mostly snow with the roads wet and grass starting to get coated. Temps fell off to 32 above 500FT with heavy snow, roads getting white everything else heavily coated...looked to me about a half inch more or less. Took some pics to highlight the change. Looks like i'll end up with the entire month of January with no measurable snowfall. Probably hasn't happened since the 90s. Any snowfall reports from CT i will gladly take em. This second pic is from Sleeping Giant mountain aka Mount Carmel in Hamden. The peak is at 739FT. It was pretty cool to see the snow line on such a low elevation event a few hundred feet below the peak and the fog developing over it.
  13. Sun's coming out here, 37. Time for some outdoor activities, maybe go for a walk
  14. Enjoy the advisory, it's the only advisory you got.
  15. Final snow totals for the rain to snow event yesterday. Thanks to everyone who submitted a report. Cut back on the NE hills for the final call which was a mistake. Ranges ended up working well as well as most of the region. Overall it was OK. Grade: B-
  16. Excited for NYC to break their all time record. Hopefully they don't get 0.1 tomorrow, that would suck.
