  1. I also don't remember any decent pack at least in southern CT in the 2000s. It would always snow then melt the next day or two or at most a week. Rarely would we see a big storm that lasted until the next one, it always seemed to reset and snow on bare ground the next time. 2010-2011 changed that, then again in 14-15 for almost 2 full months we had 6-22" snowpack, something that never happens around here. Then again to lesser degree in 2021 Feb 2-22nd we had 6-16" snowpack.
  2. 2002-2005 it seemed to snow almost every year in early december in CT around the 5th-9th and then one or two more during the month. That was a good stretch of Dec storms but after that it's been hit or miss
  3. Snowfall totals in CT and the tri-state area. Forecast wasn't great at all. Most got what they expected which was little to nothing but for the areas we forecasted accumulating snow it was signifcantly less than we expected. Only the areas in far northern and northwest ct at elevations greater than 1100/1200 feet got plowable or warning level snowfall but still less than we forecasted. Final Grade: D+
  4. Merry Christmas ya'll Trends remain that the low will be an inside runner with the predominantly rain across the region, with a mix or areas of light snow inland at the onset, quickly going over to all rain. A deep moisture feed from the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico will precede the low with the potential for a moderate rainfall. With increased confidence in a precipitation event probabilities have been increased to likely and categorical Thursday night into Friday across the area. Followed the NBM guidance.
  5. Any reports from CT, especially the NW hills, anything at all even if its a trace or 0 would be greatly appreciated. @Damage In Tolland any accumulation there?
  6. FWIW the spread on the 6Z GEFS members SLP seemed to widen from 00z splitting a lot of members into inland runners vs. offshore track. The 00Z GEFS had a cluster offshore but were much closer to hugging and running up near the coast vs. 6Z which has a lot of those members taking a more favorable offshore track near the BM.
  7. Just saw a report from Canaan, CT of 6.2", wonder what elevation thats from @tavwtbyany reports from there?
  8. Snowfall totals for the Litchfield County Crusher. CT, Tri-state, and CT town by town. Pretty happy with the forecast overall. Gradient and ranges were good, went a little low for the northern tier of the 4 northern counties, shoreline and heart of the state was good. Thank you everyone for tagging me and sending your totals. I tried to include them all, but it can be hard when i get multiples for the same town, issue with them fitting. Final Grade: B
  9. Looks like some showers moving E/SE down into this area soon. Should be able to finish over 4. Good event, definitely happy. Would have been nice to get warning snowfall but we never really bit into that, but we definitely went a bit higher than some ive seen especially the NWS. Looks like 2-4/4-6 so far based on the reports available. Should bump up an inch or so, havent seen a single report from the shoreline so im interested to see whats happening there. Looks like no rain reported on any of the ASOS stations except SNC reported UP for a couple hours but not sure how accurate that is since GON to HVN reported all snow.
  10. 3.8" new snow. North Haven. Should reach 4 at least
  11. 0.5" new from the last measure. 3.3" total so far. steady light/mod snow, good band over the area right now
  12. Looks like a general 2-4 across the state so far with 4-6 in litchfield county and western hartford county. highest report is 6" in Avon, CT
  13. Dumping now. Heavier/showery bands developing and moving across the state
