  1. 1888 I measured 51" but NWS rejected my measurement
  2. More tales from you know winter is bad when... 01. Feb 8-9th, 2013 – 37.0” 02. Jan 11-12th, 2011 – 30.5” 03. Jan 26-27th, 2011 – 18.5” 04. Feb 17-18th, 2003 – 18-20” (Estimate) 05. Feb 1-2nd, 2021 – 16.2”
  3. yea, bigtime meh. Esp for the SE, they were still supposed to get 12-18 per the warning, thats a huge bust. I was under a warning for 18-24 but forecasted modestly at 12-20 for much of the state with 8-12 in the SE
  4. based on all my records specifically for southbury, the closest you came was actually 3.14.17 with 16". Not sure if that was your report or not but Southbury i have 16"
  5. Good morning to all. We've had a helluva winter round here. Here's your estimated last 30 days of snowfall from Jan 8 to present. (Scooter early Dec) (Late Dec) (Early Jan) (Late Jan) (Early Feb) (March)
  6. Tales from "you know winter is bad when..." the saga continues Something to keep an eye on obviously but chances are very low imo consider the airmass, ensemble support etc but atleast its trending the right direction.
  7. Large sleet pellets, very loud sounded like a hailstorm. Has since stopped.
  8. All rain and no snow makes Jack a dull boy All rain and no snow makes Jack a dull boy All rain and no snow makes Jack a dull boy All rain and no snow makes Jack a dull boy All rain and no snow makes Jack a dull boy All rain and no snow makes Jack a dull boy All rain and no snow makes Jack a dull boy All rain and no snow makes Jack a dull boy
  9. Min temps and windchills across CT. Reports are from here, NWS PNS, and ASOS
  10. Not to mention another error for Boston #1 spot. There was no storm on Jan 17-18 2003. Pretty sure it supposed to be Feb 2003, PDII
  11. Just noticed it was snowing, looked outside and the roads are white with snow blowing around, that was a nice surprise.
  12. Down to 4F here, expect to bottom out slightly below zero, about what i expected. HVN is still at a pathetic 11F nearly the same as NYC, while MMK down to 3. Here's what the recording breaking cold outbreak of Feb 2016 looked like to compare it to this one.
  13. I cant even fathom what -45F with 100mph sustained winds and a wind chill of -108F must feel like
  14. Still sticking with that F grade from last season? Really only a 14-15" delta from last season to 20-21 which you proclaimed as solid. This one puts last season to shame.
  15. No thundersnow with 2/1/21, at least no reports of it that i recall seeing during the event. Last time we had widespread thundersnow in CT was Feb 9th 2017 and Mar 7th 2018. For a lot of areas west of 91 in New Haven and Fairfield ctys that was the biggest event since Feb 13. Just got finished remaking all the events for the 20-21 season if anyone's interested @WxWatcher007 you can find them here:
  16. There's so many "normies" that have been saying "we've had a really good winter" or "we've been very lucky this winter". For the vast majority of the population, probably >90%, that hate snow, these statements are true. But for us, myself included, this feels like what the average person would call SAD...it's just the exact inverse.
  17. 20-30% chance of >1" over the next 16 days for here in southern CT. Brutal. Most of SNE in the 20-50% for just an inch. During peak snowfall climo, doesn't get worse than this. Winter 01-02 continues...
  18. -17 in Wilmington Vermont in Jan 2003. Went snowmobiling that day and let's just say it was the opposite of fun. Memorable though
  19. Here's where CT is to date. This is the first one i've made for this season. There was really no reason to do it other than to highlight the utter futility we are experiencing. Most of southern coastal CT and low elevation towns have only had one measurable snowfall to date which was Dec 11-12th. Generally south of 84 is around 4" or less, 84-north is around 5-12" and the NW hills in the 12-18 range. To date this is probably the worst winter to date since 2006-2007, Which was also really brutal and didn't experience its first widespread significant snowfall (and lots of sleet) until V-day. Reports are from here, CoCoRaHs, and official climate sites. BDR - 0.8" BDL - 9.4"
