  1. Dense snow and snow grains, whitening up coming down steady now. 36F
  2. Nice burst of hail/graupel a few minutes ago along with thunder
  3. How were those in CT? Did southern CT and near the shore get screwed in the April Fools Blizzard 97?
  4. Sometimes right down to the coast, but it's pretty rare. About the best we can hope for this time of year is something like April 2018 to happen. We were on the verge of actually having another one after this but it fizzled out as we got closer. Wild season post March 1st.
  5. I thought i was in the wrong thread for a minute with everyone talking about past events, so ill add something to that. I forgot about the fact that the Mar 2019 NE hills event was exactly on 23rd. As it snowed there one year later on the 23rd. Come to think of it. CT has seen a snow event in 5 of the last 7 years on or around the Mar 21-23rd time frame March 21st 2015 - 2-7", southern CT focused March 21st 2016 - 2-7", stripe of 4-7 across central and NE CT March 2017 - none March 21st 2018 - 0-8", 6-8 across far SW CT and 2-6" across southern half of CT, big bust March 23rd 2019 - 0-6", Up to around 6" in the NE hills, most of the state nearly nothing March 23rd 2020 - 0-6", 2-6" most of northern half of CT, southern CT 0-2" March 2021 - none It's like December 5th of the early 2000s. It would also seem to snow around that date for a few years around here back then.
  6. I went to the first page of this thread and some of the images are pretty funny lol @ORH_wxman
  7. Horrible news. I look forward to returning to EST in November and hate going back to EDT in March. The ratio has gotten tighter and tighter since I was a kid it's now at around 8mos/4mos and it used to be closer to a 50/50 split. If we're just going to use one id be in favor of just using EST over EDT.
  8. MET winter snowfall climo compared to winter 21/22 for BDR & BDL.
  9. Today is the 5 year anni of the Pi Day storm. Ended up trending NW last minute and took major snowfall NYC/LI/CT off the table. We pounded snow for about 6 hours then mixed with and changed to sleet around 1030AM. Snow/sleet mix was some of the heaviest ive ever seen with rates up to 3-4"/hr. Ended with 9.9 in just a few hours.
  10. 3/13/18 was one of the biggest busts of all time that i can remember here in central CT. Stuck between banding is a gross understatement. E CT did very well though, one of their biggest storms there since 2015.
  11. "It could always be worse"...unless you're @WeatherX Thanks for all the reports. Probably have one more update at the end of the season in April.
  12. oh nvm i misread your quote. Will said you reported 36 but was probably closer to 30. So i thought they used someone elses report of 30.5 and tossed yours. my bad
  13. I mean it clearly was by the NWS since they didn't use it. It's ok they toss half my reports and other spotters i know for no apparent reason. is what it is.
  14. how does bob maxons tweet of an image of 30-36 prove 36? 30-36 does not equal 36. BOX PNS report has 30.5 for tolland i wasnt there so i have no idea but it seems 36 would be a bit high based on surrounding reports as well
