  1. I have a log home in the very northwestern part of Loudoun County (between the hills) off of Harpers Ferry Road at 725'. My great room ceiling is 24' high and I heat with my wood stove whenever possible. My wall of windows faces west and I will get slammed with this frontal passage and will probably loose power - happens often. 75% of what I burn is black locust. When it gets cold, I really have to crank the wood stove to keep my propane furnace from coming on.
  2. Right at 2". 34 for a high today and current temperature.
  3. Stuck at 31.4 for the last four hours. I am at 725'. Everything covered with ice. Hoping it will warm up soon. Do not want to loose power!
  4. I've got about six cords of seasoned black locust.
  5. .075" & 66 degrees. Is this really the end of July.
  6. 2.25" with steady light rain and 48 degrees.
  7. I'm at 1.20" for the event so far.
  8. Nice snow squall around 6:00. Temp dropped from 45 to 35 in like 5 minutes. Ground went white almost instantly.
  9. The math is why I switched from Meteorology to Environmental Science. I started out as a Meteorological Major at Lyndon State College for three or four semesters back in 1992.
  10. You need to move from eastern to western Loudoun! Great storm out here. Mod. to heavy snow since 6:00am. Probably in excess of 3", but hard to tell because it is so wind blown.
  11. Totally agree. Very strong winds with visibility about a hundred yards at best. Down to 29.
  12. I have been on this board and the prior board for over 15 years now and usually sit and listen. I have yet to see even one of your forecasts come true.
  13. 3.5" with light snow and 28 degrees. Woke up at 1:00am to heavy snow.
  14. Went from 10% snow to 90% snow in a matter of a minute or two.
