  1. Granted - that is if the train had a reasonable runtime. As it stands right now, i'd fly over the train every day (and i love the train).
  2. yeah but you think door-to-door. Union Station to Back Bay or South Station is nothing vs going from like IAD to BOS.
  3. Everyone should experience it at least once - a heavy snow in Manhattan is magical. The city just becomes so peaceful - it's f*cking amazing. It is very fleeting (the inconvenience of a ton of snow in the middle of the city soon becomes apparent). But man, while it's snowing - nothing like it. Honestly.
  4. if we actually lived in a developed, industrialized country - a train from DC to BOS would take like 4-5 hrs.
  5. yeah if i didn't have two little ones, i'd do it. have a nice few days in boston
  6. Maybe models have severe issues between jan 25 and 27 it's some whack version of the Y2K bug (look it up kids). models just crap out on those dates in certain years.
  7. He from Philly. Its possible. All the philly posters post here lol lol i would bet money he already posts here.
  8. just remember in a couple months it'll be 75 and sunny here and they'll be stuck in 40s and fog.
  9. i would say model worshipper is a stretch tho. you like maps. models are plotted on maps. I mean there is a connection there but that is a bit strong imo.
  10. that's a really lovely neighborhood!
  11. i just don't want a life where I have to put my kids in the car to go everywhere. I mean where we live right now is perfect in that regard but we are running out of space, especially since our younger one will probably be walking within a couple of months.
  12. i've basically lived in city centers since about 2006 (DC, Philly, Caracas, NYC, DC) - I don't know if I could survive in the burbs.
  13. my issue with Palisades is lack of transit tho. I'd probably pick Kalorama Triangle as 1, and where you live as 2 (Cleveland Park). We are also considering schools - I mean Eaton just got a $60M upgrade.
  14. if you could live in any neighborhood in the DMV, where would you live?
  15. maybe that's the problem tho - perhaps we need to start the thread now. You know, show our respect to the model and its solution as it stands now, then maybe it will show favor upon us and keep it. Worth a shot.
  16. we got a mention of "convective feedback"!!
  17. yeah - i think i need to actually taste **good** tequila. But i'm not ready yet lol. I will drink a margarita - if the taste is well-masked, I can deal with it. I just got a tasting set of four different Japanese whiskeys - just goddamn incredible.
  18. i'll take it. i had a REALLY bad experience with tequila once back in 2009. A bar in NE Philly (Fishtown) had a special where it was a shot of jose cuervo (yes i know that is sh*t) and a tecate beer for $5. Let's just say I woke up in West Philly. I can't stand the taste or smell of tequila since then.
  19. Bourbon/Whiskey, Scotch, Rum - don't drink the other except for occasionally gin
