  1. gotta wonder when was the last time that DCA had a higher max in November vs October.
  2. lol why does DC proper have a frost advisory? It's still in the low 50s out.
  3. Below 70F here in the west end for the first time in about a month. DCA still holding strong in the low-mid 70s.
  4. 95/78 rn downtown as the storms approach - looks like i had 100/78 earlier this afternoon. brutal.
  5. 85/76 at the 10am ob for DCA. Toasty.
  6. DCA at 86/77 - brutal. 90/77 here downtown.
  7. Looks like around 2:25pm I had a 96/80 reading. LOL.
  8. we've gotten like 10" of rain here since around July 1
  9. getting absolutely hammered with rain downtown - well over 1" now.
  10. they really should relocate the official DC obs back to somewhere in the District.
  11. pretty cool shot of how the local UHI works in the urban core:
  12. look, what do we do well around here?? Heat and catastrophic amounts of rain over a short timeframe on a very localized level. We've already knocked out the latter several times this season. We gotta go big with the heat.
  13. it's kind of insane that lows in the upper 70s are now pretty routine in the urban areas from DC to NYC from late June through August. And around here a couple 80+ lows are now mostly an annual occurrence.
  14. some of the worst climate deniers come from the meteorological community itself
  15. probably a lock for a couple nights of 80F+ as well with the lack of storms. We will probably have quite the extended period of 75F+ temps as well (low overnight in DC was 77F).
  16. gust front from nearby storms just rolled through - actually quite pleasant now (82/72)
  17. 90/78 here as well. This is air you can REALLY feel lol.
  18. river keeping the dews down a bit at DCA (88/74) but it's 88/77 here downtown.
  19. about 3.5" here downtown, so not as much as DCA but it was pouring overnight. Drainage is extremely good around here though so we almost never have any flooding (everything just flows into Rock Creek and the Potomac).
  20. I remember that storm - I lived in Georgetown at the time (across the street from Rose Park) and Rock Creek Parkway had turned into a raging river. Crazy amounts of rain.
  21. again - guaranteed we will pay for this.
  22. yeah DCA at 79 for 1am EDT - we'll see if that gets topped.
  23. still in the low 80s downtown. i guess we should enjoy these next couple days because looks like DC summer is about to flex its muscles.
