Could be worse. Get a few days of upslope in there and it’d look pretty good. I mean, we weren’t supposed to get much of anything this weekend and we got almost half a foot.

Whatever it is. In December a cloud would drop 4” of upslope. Now we have a disturbance coming through and get a dusting

Doesn’t surprise me. Your base area gets stronger upslope flow and less down sloping during the warmups we’ve had. Our pack never gets as substantial as even the Mg Washington Valley because of the effect of these torches

Pack down to 9” after the warmup. Temp down to 31/28, gonna be some icy runs today

It’s nice to be home

Starting to make my way back home. Can’t get over how gorgeous the Alps are. Picture taken at Fort La Redoute right on the Italy/France border at 7900 ft, with Mt Blanc in the background (La Thuile/La Rosiere ski area)

That’s where I am (Val d’Aosta). The amount of snow is good, but there’s been some pretty good freeze thaw cycles so it’s pretty much cement. There’s some pretty cool spots of very very deep stuff along downwind ledges, but I skied into La Rosiere on the French side today and it was quite thin there with some grass showing on some trails.

Not a ton of snow in the Italian Alps (and quite icy) but gorgeous day and scenery. Cool to be able to ski back and forth from Italy to France.
