That's when you know it's wrong--ain't no February the best month in a nina, lolol Man this has the be the easiest winter to forecast ever! Don't even have to go to school to do it
-
Ah don't be a stick-in-the mud... c'mon wasn't anything wrong with that...all teams have dilly celebrations during the playoffs, do they not?
-
Atm...probably Harbaugh. Not everybody hates Hyde...but Harbs is basically public enemy #1 right now (some online being jerks comparing him to bin laden, smh). I just hate that all this negativity is surrounding our sports--I think the Ravens negativity is even worse. Seems to be reaching a fever pitch!

Man this sucks...Orioles, Ravens, snow...three things outside of my control I root for for some extra happiness...they all letting me down, lol Although the Orioles I have much more hope for to turn it around. But the Ravens? I'm disillusioned, disenchanted, and disgusted (only a small bit of hope we can overcome this) And snow? Well we all know what the deal is. Boo...just boo.

Why is any index a good sign for the winter? Wait...do good indexes even exist anymore?

Remnants of PTC8: Drought Denting Rain Event
Maestrobjwa replied to Weather Will's topic in Mid Atlantic
Just warming up for nina suppression during the winter, lol -
I think Harbaugh is getting more hate than he ever has now. I feel bad for him as a person...good dude. But...folks want a ring for Lamar, and that's where it's coming from. And people are upset...hope we can turn this around.

I say HAVE to because I believe in history...0-3 teams have never won a Super Bowl Only three 0-2 teams have won one. That's kinda where I'm at--with Harbs who knows if we even do it if we make the playoffs again. But to have a historical chance...we CANNOT go down 0-3. As far as the defense...I still think Marlo could have a better year than last year but maybe not hus former All-pro self. Wiggins could definitely be a contributer, and any communication issues oughta get better. As a whole...weird as it is, the defense has not completely lost the "spark" from last year. I think they're still gonna be pretty good if not great as the season goes on.
-
Well...they HAVE to beat them. 0-2 is already difficult to dig out of...0-3? It would definitely be over then. So we need to win to even have a chance this year, imo
-
The defense has still been good overall, though! Weren't we like No. 1 or 2 in the league? That counts for something. There's a reason why McDonald was sought after as a head coach. You can't say because we blew a lead that means the defense isn't good. Everything they've done between those times has been great. And...was the D the reason we didn't beat the Chiefs last year? Nope, lol (we held the Chiefs to less points than some of their other opponents).
-
D is fixable. Zach Orr is a rookie DC and is gonna have an adjustment period just like Mike Mac did. OL is gonna require some patience--they just need time to gel. So those two things have the potential to get better as the season goes on.
-
This team has the talent to get hot when nobody is expecting it. It's not like this team didn't have hit bats the first three months of the season. Nobody can realistically write this season off yet...strange things happen in the playoffs (just look at the Rangers last year, lol). Not to mention...we're poised to get healthier by then.
-
They still have time. I still believe they're too good NOT to dig out of this. Not saying they will for sure, but...with this group, all it's gonna take is a spark. And getting players like Westy and GRod and Coulombe back may be part of said spark.
-
This is gonna be interesting with the Orioles' being home next week...lol Our record with rain delays is AWFUL this year for some reason, but hey...if we get an extra day or two off, who knows?
-
They're young players encountering their first real adversity with injuries and struggles at the plate. Too early to call Adley a bust, imo Gotta see if he breaks out of this. I think once they get over this they'll be okay. They just have to relax--that's what the problem is here. They're trying to hard right now...and Westburg said it best yesterday:
-
Is it just me or is intesification before landfall occurring with all of these storms now?
-
Not the first game you'd like to start with when you have a shaky O-line that needs time to gel and a rookie D-Coordinator, lol No need to cliff jump based off of this game though if we can't come back tonight. Just win next week, lol

That one game a couple weeks ago that you're probably referring to was one of the very few examples of Hyde missing on the pinch hitting this year--bad decision that game, smh But outside of that, though...it's worked like 95% of the time--numbers don't lie, man!

There are only 3 times this year where I said "bad move". Most of the time, I get it. Saturday, for example...at that point, Hyde had a choice: Use Cano for two innings and have him also unavailable if you need him on Sunday, or Kimbrel. Dominguez was the only other arm left. I mean I guess Irvin? (Not reliable for a close game either) Bad choices. I think folks don't always consider the nuances of bullpen management. During the regular season, It's as much about who you're gonna have the next day as who you use today. This year the bullpen arms have struggled--there have been times where people scream at Hyde but here's the thing: If you bring an arm in to matchup better when a starter is in the 6th over 90 pitches, he has to perform. If he doesn't, that's on him not the manager.
-
Dang you can't stand Harbaugh or Hyde? Lol I'm gonna start calling y'all HHH (Harbaugh Hyde Haters) It's amazing some of our fanbase can't stand either despite both coaching winning teams! In terms of adversity I was talking more about overcoming the injuries. As far as bringing Kimbrel in: I think that's more of an issue of not having somebody else up from AAA to send out instead. As it was, Kimbrel and Dominguez were the only two left Hyde coulda used. I can guarantee he didn't wanna use Kimbrel, but also didn't want to give Cano two innings either in case he needed him for the next day. (Remember, Kremer's early exit caused us to use like 4 arms) And you can't risk burning Cano for the next day (Sunday's game) because you had already used so many arms on Saturday. I find a lot of the Hyde dissatisfaction comes over bullpen usage. And 90% of the complaints I see are typical ways bullpens are used around the league. Matchups, sometimes one batter, no more than an inning...ya see this often. Yet people complain when Hyde does it, lol I don't think his bullpen usage is as bad as some make it out to be. It's just that our BP arms haven't been as good this year--and that can make any manager look bad because when they come in they've screwed up sometimes. Although lately... they have been doing better overall. Perhaps they can lock in more down the stretch (and get Webb and Coulombe back).
-
Talk about adversity, smh But hey, sometimes that can fuel a team down the stretch...you just never know.

To me, the one "decent" nina post 2016 was the nickel-and-dime winter of 2017-18 where we got 18 inches or so. That year was funny because most of the 1-2 inchers came right during the morning rush and the schools burned through all their snow days despite the small amounts, hahaha I'm my unscientific opinion (yes I have no shortage of those), that would be the top end of possibilities.
-
Ehh I wouldn't say that...remember, despite all of this, we are doing the first place dance with the Yankees, and nobody else in the AL is running away with it...thus buying us time to get healthy. I'd say that is a more of a blessing than the opposite--we could be in a much worse position right now!

Back in first place baby How we and NY keep copying each other is weird and hilarious, lol
