I think the "worse" is more on Orr. Here's my theory: What if Zach Orr has just sucked at communicating the plays? I'd imagine a veteran DC could do at least that much. Orr is still calling the plays right now even though Pees is an assistant/advisor. And we agreed that the defense was never this bad under Pees...so to me the only option left is to demote Orr. If Pees hands are in things too much...let him take over so there can be consistent communication.

I'm definitely not ready to rule out meh. If they can find a little extra something down the stretch, that could be just enough.

Because they had to do SOMETHING. Orr has been in over his head and he played under Pees who he still had a great relationship with...when there are no other viable options, you have to do the best you can. For me..."bend don't break" is still better than a complete breakdown. The "breaking" we've seen with Orr calling the plays is worse than anything Pees did, imo. I'm still in favor of just having Pees take over--I mean at least he did do well enough to win a SB, lol And really...this offense is great enough to carry "bend don't break" (although the communication of defense HAS to improve). And besides...what other moves are available for the Ravens to make at the point?

Better to not speculate until we know. It could be a sprain too.

Or...the offense could just be having an off night no matter what the gameplan was. They're out of sorts for the first time all year. But this is where if you had a better defense...you could withstand it, lol

As always, great points. I will say this too: For those millennial like me, I think the perspective is a bit skewed, because if you're like me and your working memory for snowstorms started at the blizzard of 96...the span from then to 2016 was one in which you still had those 3-6"ers, and every 3-4 years you'd get a good-sized storm of either a foot, or maybe two feet every 6-7 years or so. So the dud years in between were normal and expected. What we didn't see? This long of a stretch without seeing more than 5-6". Like, that never happened. It was always 3 duds then a good one. Not 8 straight like this! So I guess what I'm saying is that there is generational slanted perspective for some of us. What was a realistic expectation seems to have changed.

The way I see it...at least Pees is a veteran DC who can get this defense to play to a serviceable level. Bend-don't-break is still better than what we got now, lol

Yeah I don't this uh...sorta whining everytime Harbaugh doesn't completely skewer somebody publicly after a loss. "Keep working" can mean a lot of things and we don't know what's being said in-house.

All they gotta do is get to "serviceable". Just to not suck...I think there's still time to get them there IF they make the right moves.

Let me ask ya something....what would be the positive of him throwing them under the bus right now? This is typical coachspeak they all use. This doesn't mean they're not gonna make some moves at the trade deadline (and even coaching). EDC has a track record of making moves if they're available.
