  1. I know this is a more serious post, but forgive me I got a little stuck on this: There's a place called Cockroach Bay? Lololol That is funny--hey they oughta be able to survive anything
  2. In that state I worry about how many other places of businesses have that mindset, smh
  3. Saw others saying that the lighting around the eye mat suggest otherwise.
  4. The fact that the potential peak from this thing was so high that the "weakening" last night from the EWRC meant it got down to "just" a high end 4 is dizzyingly insane! That's the threshold with this thing, and now it's intensifying again...as you said: unreal! I see LF predictions are at Cat 3 but I'm wondering about that...especially with what seems to be the tendency of every hurricane strengthening right into LF.
  5. Are you sure using the NAM for a hurricane is a good idea? (I'm actually not sure but I never see the experts in the tropical thread use it for that).
  6. Oh you do more than that--you are an anchor in that thread, my friend. And that post was uber informative and red tagger worthy (What's your background?)
  7. The heck is that dude gonna do in a hurricane???
  8. Ah so you're retired? Decided you were finally done trying to moderate all of us simpletons?
  9. Is it wise to consider the recent trend of storms not weakening (or even strengthening) upon landfall, or is it better to just take each storm on it's own?
  10. More like 24 hrs isn't it? Think it was still a TC 11 am yesterday (but someone can correct me if I'm wrong there)
  11. With the trend the last several years of maintaining (or gaining) strength right up to land fall, it's hard to assume that. Not the most scientific take in the world, but...it's happening so often now it seems!
  12. Bro what the...I got to bed and thing is barely a Cat 1...now it's a frickin' high-end Cat 4??? Oughta add another letter to RI: ERI (extremely rapid intesification). Sweet mercy
  13. I don't get why a stronger nina would be better, though...Wouldn't it just be a stronger version of what doesn't work? Lol
  14. There is no way anyone can honestly draw a line from Hyde to why this season ultimately failed. Before the season started there was no reason to fire the hitting coaches because the RISP numbers and situational hitting was great last year! So, no crystal ball there. And what can you say Hyde did to make us lose this postseason series? Some people are getting rather ridiculous saying it's his fault because somebody didn't bunt, or this player was placed too high in the order, or playing McCann (despite the fact he called a great game and Burnes prefers him over Adley). And overall you can't even point to the team being overall unfocused/undisciplined (not talking about at the plate per se, but just in general). And clearly he had NOT lost the clubhouse like some were suggesting. This is a problem in one area: the hitting. Now it IS Hyde's responsibility to fire those hitting coaches--keeping them after what happened would kinda be malpractice, imo But otherwise? You can't really blame him for this. Now my first guess is they don't fire him and probably give him one more year to get things right with new hitting coaches.
  15. Agree and agree. I have never seen a lineup so hopelessly stuck in a mental rut for months--so much so that they just couldn't break out of it even when facing elimination. I kept saying this team needed a therapist/sports psychologist, not just coaches! I don't get how you collectively slump that badly. I guess whenever the bad habit started, it got harder and harder to correct the longer the slump went on? And maybe they got more and more anxious at the plate and just started swinging at everything? Who knows, smh Gunnar was disappointing and kinda surprising because he hit pretty well in the postseason last year! So what ever the mental bug was this year got him too, smh
  16. Yeah we had two bad luck balls yesterday...I think O'Hearn stung another one and the infielder just snagged it and threw him out, smh Two hits that would've changed everything!
  17. So...little to no snow, Orioles keep losing in the playoffs, Ravens started off 0-2 after also losing to KANSAS CITY in the playoffs...well, that all the things I root for and they've all let me down over the last year. Terrible.
  18. I am absolutely disgusted and angry and disappointed with this team. They oughta be ashamed! Ya know...I'm finding that I get as upset about my teams losing in the playoffs as when we miss snowstorms (though this year I'm not bothering to track much). I'm tired of this external stuff I have no control over determining my mood. I just wanna throw something right now and I am frickin' depressed. I know it makes no logical sense because there are more important things in life--but this stuff puts me in a rut.
  19. I think the most likely change if, IF we get bounced would be the hitting coaches. I think they give Hyde himself one more chance--I get the sense that Elias wants to go all the way with him and not have Hyde become another rebuilding manager statistic of getting fired then the WS ring comes. BUT...if it that doesn't work either, they may not have a choice but to look elsewhere. Maybe Buck Britton from AAA? Since most of these players know him already?.. But perhaps we oughta wait until the end of this series before we start speculating--but ya can't help but think of the scenarios!
  20. I hope so, man. If they win you'll have to go tomorrow too...ya know that right? Lol Desperate times desperate measures
  21. While I still do not believe the hitting coaches are at fault (the problem with these hitters is mental), they may end up taking the fall if we don't comeback in this series. I've been saying for awhile here...they're coaches, not psychiatrists. They can't force these players to think better...the players have to work through that! So the issue could be more roster construction...that maybe these young players need a veteran bat with great OBP to help lead. Coaching can't solve all mental stuff...the players gotta follow what's coached!
  22. Because McCann is who Burnes likes to pitch to. I'd think you'd give your ace a choice in the playoffs with that. And tbh...on Burnes side, it worked! And hold on...Burnes gave up a hit in the 9th. Time to turn it over because it was just a one run game and you're trying to keep it that way.
