There is no way anyone can honestly draw a line from Hyde to why this season ultimately failed. Before the season started there was no reason to fire the hitting coaches because the RISP numbers and situational hitting was great last year! So, no crystal ball there.
And what can you say Hyde did to make us lose this postseason series? Some people are getting rather ridiculous saying it's his fault because somebody didn't bunt, or this player was placed too high in the order, or playing McCann (despite the fact he called a great game and Burnes prefers him over Adley).
And overall you can't even point to the team being overall unfocused/undisciplined (not talking about at the plate per se, but just in general). And clearly he had NOT lost the clubhouse like some were suggesting. This is a problem in one area: the hitting. Now it IS Hyde's responsibility to fire those hitting coaches--keeping them after what happened would kinda be malpractice, imo
But otherwise? You can't really blame him for this. Now my first guess is they don't fire him and probably give him one more year to get things right with new hitting coaches.
