Good evening Cobalt. If we must be weenie victims, it’s best to be in the company of the professional and well versed posters that have also received them. Chessco may never move beyond his beliefs but he never, at least from what I’ve seen, moves from the civility of three dimensions to the less desirable two. greenskeeper uses the weenie as his post and reply. Reacting to it negatively is probably the desired outcome. Other than creating a weenie to post limit use, it will remain just a free meme to use. Stay well and your point/observation was in that sense valid. As always ….

60’s and 70’s, yes and I also spent up to age 12 in the 50’s. Newspapers, TV (if you had one) and radio was your major 50’s news/information source. Out front, out back, the street for stickball was our summer joy, warm or hot just as long as you were out. Winter just like today, in the five boroughs, was pray for snow. I remember considering it a win if the ground was covered. We made due with slush balls as necessary but damn a direct hit was not pleasant. Basic memories of an old guy brought to the surface by a simple sentence. Thank you Dendrite, as always …..

Actually Liberty, considering my skill set compared to yours and the majority of posters on the forum, it was an accomplishment for me to properly use google search. Thank you though for the kind words. As always …..

Good morning Liberty, I pray you are well. Not sure if the result would end up in the ‘be careful what you wish’ for category. As always ……

Good morning Rob, Hudson, W G, Julian, Gravity. Central Park ended up with 1.46 in a two hour stretch. I included a screen shot of the Accu-Weather radar as the line was approaching the boroughs. I pray everyone is and continues to do well. As always ….

Similar event about thirty years back. I heard the pop as I was going down the subway stairs. I was able to get home and some pain set in later. By the time I got to the orthopedic trauma specialist ny leg from knee to ankle was black. I needed therapy and was able to walk with a boot and return to work almost immediately. I can’t remember the exact diagnosis but something in my calf snapped. The only thing I remember is the specialist, a couple of weeks later, marveling at the bodies ability to heal because the discoloration was completely gone. Please take care, it will heal. Good morning Will Euripides. It should work out if we can get this fellow to give a repeat performance. Stay hopeful, as always ….. -
Rob, the only place I was hung over was the rail. My cast plastic stomach insisted on it. Most times the little white D pill didn’t work. Some kindly boating vets advised me to stick to the bays, when feeling queasy focus on the unmoving shore line and/or try to catch a wave spray in the face. Probably needed a less sensitive inner ear. Stay well, as always ….

Good late morning Snowdin. I tried to imagine a visual of your description…… failed miserably then went on the search. Stay well and beware the crack of dawn. As always ….

Ref: NOAA/NWS, Central Park received .31 between 19:51 and 07:51. There was a 13 degree (F) drop between 19:51 and 20:51. Stay well and pray power is restored for all soon. As always ….

With no satellite or radar tracking the unknown was the greatest difference. We really never knew how bad it would be until it was on us. A later 1960 memory, during that active period, was leaving Brooklyn Technical High School during Hurricane Donna ( regular schedule no school cancellation or early dismissal ) and seeing the long stairs going up into Fort Green Park become a raging river. Today’s detailed Analysis of track and intensity of storms reduce the fear factor compared to then because we really never knew what was coming. I can still hear my mother telling me not to worry because we are only getting the ‘tail end’ of the hurricane. I was smart enough not to ask her what the hell that meant. As always …..

Good evening CB. I became interested in my single digits during the early mid 50’s. The Daily News Coloroto Magazine would put out a color centerfold of the US with past hurricane tracks. In the actiive 50’s it was updated yearly. Most of the wiring was above ground. A candle supply was a necessity during those active seasons. I remember Riding in my father’s 1950 Buick Roadmaster and seeing many of my Brooklyn neighborhood side streets blocked by downed and crossed trees. I can’t even dream of coming close to the skills of my fellow forum members but I enjoy the spaghetti track graphics and the analysis that TS threads produce. Stay well, as always …

Another 85 year old lyric comes to mind. Somewhere over the rainbow sky’s are blue And the dreams that you dare to dream do come true. If happy little blue birds fly beyond the rainbow why oh why can’t I. enjoy the dream Joe B. …….. Often that’s all it is. as always …….
