  1. The response by Hazwoper, 14 hours ago, shows your not alone. He gave us two choices, to perhaps vote on, regarding Hickory’s post. I, however, see it as a strained attempt at sarcasm that does manage to make some uncomfortable, offend others and definitely communicate “ strange”. So is it trolling or stupid, probably both, sadly well done Hickory. As always....
  2. Just a math teacher? What a great foundation to pursue a love of Meteorology/Atmospheric Science. Your state has every type the atmosphere has to offer. As always.......
  3. Those people are probably lonly ooking at October through March when the city averages about 75% of its average yearly total. We sought of get imprinted with those monster fall and winter Pacific lows that crash into the nortwest coast. Summer there seems very dry.

  5. I hope you not asking the same question 4 months from now.
  6. In my corner of Brooklyn that dress style, for local folks, easily goes into November. Than again their circulation still works.
  7. Unc, that was the first nine years of my life and my memory revolves around slush and soaked snow pants. That’s what a lot of us wore at the time. Snow/slush balls were brutal.
  8. We should be able to keep our “G” rating, at least, until the first snow threat.
  9. I guess when you have nice warm ocean as a neighbor to your east and a cold continental land mass as a neighbor to your west your weather can be anything at possibly anytime, which makes this forum so exciting.
  10. Factor in the 89 degree days and two station are already there. A few stations may have a shot at fifty 89/90 plus degree days.
  11. I’m 71+ and it hasn’t happened yet. I’m looking forward to covering the t shirt with flannel, at least, the way things are going, by the holidays.
  12. In one season that would be over 300 inches of snow. Considering Central Park measurement accuracy it would probably be over 400 inches.
  13. Amen and blessings and comfort for your wonderful family.
  14. I remember the pounding sound of the hail hitting the metal porch roof in the rear of our row house in Sout Brooklyn. My late wife calling in a panic because people were running into stores on Court St. to avoid the hail. It briefly whitened the ground in our area. I went out back and picked up some of the pieces. They ranged up to large marble sized. I have never seen it’s like before or after. I wonder what Unc remembers about the event?
  15. Hold on to it, Forky. Instead of having a contest to guess the date of the first or largest or most intense snow or winter storm, we could have one to guess the date of the biggest bust. The prize is in “F” mans freezer.
  16. Much appreciated and thank you for a kind thought from you in the recent past. As always ......
  17. In theses times we can’t even get agreement on speculation. Cue the furry caterpillars.
  18. I remember early in September 1964, the lows on my first few days of college, in Brooklyn, were in the upper 40’s. Unc will correct me if I’m wrong.
  19. We could all chip in and put turbos on the weed whackers.
  20. Sky getting lighter, thunder still almost continuous now easing. Not much rain to speak of in Cobble Hill. Daughter said it was pouring in Bay Ridge
  21. I just hope we don’t have to make the same trade offer during what’s supposed to be the winter.
  22. Please send them back in the winter with rulers.
