Maryland Texas game stopped in 4th qtr due to "thunderstorms in the area".
Edit: MD playing at Fedex field today.
I was at this game. Aside from the travesty that was the game, it was a brutal day.
Abd FedEx should be blown up. What a ****hole.

This is NUTS.
As of 6 p.m., KMDT had recorded .29” of rain.
Mt. Joy recorded 10.57”.
THE STATIONS ARE 13 MILES APART

I had a light shower in Harrisburg, but nothing more.

Weather hounds, can you help me with Saturday's weather? Just planning ahead for the Texas football game at noon at FedEx in Landover and see rain possibilities but I'm not good as discerning percentage or timing for some reason with this event.
Any help?

I won't disagree. Several years ago when my daughter was still in HS, i was off for my birthday and it happened to be during that cold spell and schools were closing. I went on an AFA at our Middle school. It was set off due to the big temperature difference. anyhow, a maint guy told me it cost $10,000 a day to heat some of the schools PER DAY after temp hit a certain low spot.
Yeah, it's why schools shouldn't really start before labor day anywhere IMO.

No, i believe they have AC, but schools systems can't handle extreme heat or cold.
But why? I mean yes it's hot but for 60 percent of the country it isn't anything out of the ordinary. They need better infrastructure - and here's an idea consolidate to save money and it's easy to fix!
-
Schools are closing here because heat. I assume it's because they don't have a/c?

@MillvilleWx - hit up a Permian game this week or next. Very few things can make Midland/Odessa worthwhile but those are a blast.
@Jebman - I want a photo of you holding a #4 double with spicy ketchup. Stat.

Heat advisories up from noon until 8 p.m. Tuesday. Crossing fingers it'll be the last one of the season.

Lucky no one was injured.

Past couple days and especially the mornings have been amazing.
Next week is looking hotter and hotter and it's going to humid as hell to boot. Screw this.

Last night 2.1" fell at my home. From July 21st to August 21st I received 22.4" of rain. Fortunately I don't see that continuing for the next 11 months, which would give me a 268" yearly total.
We might be the new Ketchikan!

Pretty sure last night put me over 30” since June 1.

Don’t look now but next weekend our upstate friends may hit upper 40s. We down in the LSV look to be from Saturday through 10 days in the mid 60s lows and low 80 highs. That puts us around Aug 23 - we are quickly running out of hot weather!!!!!

Hey @Voyager how the hell did this happen today in HBG on the 83 ramp???

Susky @ W-B expected to get to near 30' for a crest.
Wouldn't mind if the rainy pattern ceased for a while...fearful of what could happen if another sh*tstorm kicks up over northern PA or upstate NY.
Or if we get a TS that sits over us (looks doubtful this year but man that'd be a massive problem). HBG has missed all the recent rain thankfully so the river here shouldn't be a problem this round.

I didnt say it.....you did.
But good lord do i ever think it. All the time.
that ctp graphic above shows that many of us in east central pa have gotten raked....and looking at the lr on TT we still look to be not quite be out of the woods yet.
this has been one of the muggiest summers in some time. Looking forward to Septembers first cool shots (hopefully anyway).
Nut
Read somewhere it doesn't look like summer will be a stronghold in September. Hope that's true - I'm looking forward to low humidity 65 degree days.

Crazy graphic from CTP

So I've had .05” rain since midnight and in a FFW still and nothing really looks promising, everything is dying as it reaches the mountains and reforms in eastern Lancaster County it seems.

Brutal because it was stifling hot and humid, then stuffed into a ramp for 1hr 30mins, then more humid. And Texas sucks and I want to die.
