  1. That was an impressive streamer that came down through Washington and Frederick counties.

That puts me at exactly 4" on the day. Could of been more. Was at work all day and just measured. I'm sure there was some compaction going on. I'll go with 4"

Hoping some of those streamers up in PA can make it down here

Those who doubt Nino's In the Mid Atlantic pay the price for their stupidity.

I'm moving this to the banter thread so not to clog up the obs thread.

We still have a long way to go to hit climo for some areas. I'm at 8.25 for the season. My average is almost 30. It's even higher in Nino years.

If I get 3 or 4 inches tomorrow I'll be around 12 for the season. I have a long way to go just to get to climo. If we punt most or all of next week it's almost February.  Alot of work to do in 4 to 6 weeks. Sure it can happen. It could happen with just 1 storm.

This week has been great! I'm loving it! Don't get me wrong, but if your at around 10" mark heading into February was this the December and January you invisioned back in November?

Again I'm so happy for the snow we have gotten. I only had 2" last season which is crazy for Smithsburg at 750ft in elevation at the M/D line

I would like to see the vort stay a bit further south.  All of us would still get snow but would lessen our chances of vaporizing qpf.     12Z HRRR coming in and it is South and faster as compared to 6Z (at 1Z tonight.)

Southern half of VA would be a nice path foe the vort.

Yea, I was mostly kidding on DT's map but some models have been showing us dry slotting so that is a concern.  I still think temps will be near 30 for us.    I like the 2-4 call right now (above the M/D line I think Sterling has you at 2-3 the last time I looked.)

I Hate that damn inverted V signature from Miller B's lol

It's so the teachers can finish paperwork and submit grades and such. Teachers are already underappreciated enough - are they just supposed to do that in their personal time?

Very good post. I'm no teacher buy have family members that are and I don't think people realize how much of their personal time is used for the "behind the scenes" stuff.

Now the perk is being off for 8 weeks over the summer lol.

That is about where DT's map put you....close to the 2" line.   I am solidly in the under 2" area.    The advisory says 2-4" though.

Dt's map around DC could be right. Tough call down there. A 25 mile shift either way for them could mean 0 or 3 inches

Along the M/D line and into southern PA I think there's a possible boom if things break right. Euro looks nice and improved the last few runs. Could see a boom scenario where along the border and southern PA gets 3 to 5. Ratios should be decent. Snow should be falling in 24 hours. Almost game time.

I was looking in the MA forum and there are a few forecast maps posted from tv mets and Nws. I know some will disagree, but from what I've seen, they are all too high. It's my humble opinion that because the Monday storm produced on the high side of forecasts, especially in the DC/BALT area, mets are going on the high side for this event. I saw the those local tv mets down there do it when I  lived there for 60+ years just like they always liked to lowball early season minor events.

I agree. Some of the tv mets have 3 or 4 inches in DC.  I'm thinking around an inch for DC 1 to 2 for Balt.  Maybe 3 towards the M/D line max.

Looks like Deep creek/Canaan are the places to be this weekend. Wisp will probably be 100% open after this next storm and could top 60” on the year so far. Mountains have had a great January for the ski resorts.

Going to wisp next weekend. Hoping to avoid the rain.
