The Orioles have now given up 20+ runs in a game and scored 20+ runs in a game in a single season.

    Down 6-0 they win 22-8.

Mayo did somewhat of a bat flip when he hit the Homer off the rays starting SS lol.

Not sure what to make of him but seems a bit of an Ass.

Between that odd baserunning play and him running his mouth to the media when he was sent down earlier in the year after batting under .100 I'd say I'm not a fan.

He’s had 2 amazing starts and 1 dumpster fire

His fastball was consistently 93-94 tonight That'll play as a lefty

Last year he was more in the 90-91 range.

To me he looks in better shape this year but that's just my 2 cents.

  3. You know its hot when it's 94 up in the Catoctins at 5pm.

Even on hot summer days when the area is in the 90s Cascade/ Catoctins area above 1500ft will be in the 80s. 94 is cooking for this area.

Indeed! But oy...we'd still have to beat history though. To date, no team that's lost by 20 runs has ever made the playoffs. I see a scenario where if we play really we may just miss. Even that would still bode well for the next season though! Just wanna see them at least make a run at it if they get closer.

If they continue to play well up to the all star break it definitely makes their trade deadline plans merky.

It's hard to fathom how bad the Os have been with RISP this year.

    There 1 - 11 tonight.

Yeah the pitching sucked in April but has somewhat stabilized.

The hitting has been really bad. Hard to say wether it's just a down year for some of their highly touted position players or they over achieved last year and the year before and reality is setting in.

Adley hasn't been good at the plate or behind the plate for almost a full season now.

It's pretty clear the Os go how Adley goes and I don't think it's a coincidence that the Os rough second half started when Adley's struggles started.

Os finally found a team they can beat without even looking very impressive. The historically bad Whitesox. Going for the sweep tomorrow!

Not that the starters were hitting but my god everyone is injured. Entire outfield and half the infield.

Travel. We were playing a tournament in Elkridge. Saturday we left the house at 11am and got home at 730pm. Sunday left the house at 10am and got home at 9pm. Made it to the championship game and lost 6-3. We had our chances to win the game. They played great. Total of 5 games and even knock off an undefeated team. I am very proud of these kids and how far they have come.

It gets fun on Sundays when they keep winning and moving on

My son is 10u this year. Last year we had a tournament in Salisbury and made it to the championship game. 4 games on Sunday  for 9 year olds was alot. Long day but really fun. We didn't pull out of the parking lot till probably 830 that night. My son was a sleep within 5 minutes lol.

Proud dad here. Look at that form. Leg could be a little straighter but not bad for an 11 year old.   If you zoom in, you can see the ball in glove just before the runner hits the base

    Travel team or LL?

Got him by less than a half step.

Looks like the base runner has the same Bruce Bolt gloves my son has..

Sugano! The one and only solid acquisition in the offseason. Credit given for that. Dude has an amazing splitter. They better extend him. The only legit starter they have right now lol.

    Trade bait.

To Jump start the next rebuild.

  10. Poor leadership for Elias and Rubenstein.

In hiding after they put out a statement on Saturday that Hyde was relieved of his duties.

    Totally ghosting the media.

I am not--I just think the argument you and some others are making is ridiculous and I just don't get it. Calling it like I see it. If he doesn't fire Elias this off-season I'll have criticism for that. But as I see it he did not make this mess and can't be blamed for it.

Splitting hairs. And Burnes still wasn't coming back here, btw Location over money won that one. He doesn't know much about baseball...he literally said that. He left all those decisions to Elias. That you're arguing that owners should dictate all the moves a GM makes is beyond me. Were you not around for when Angelos meddled constantly and screwed things up over and over?

I'm certainly not saying  that owners should dictate all moves to GM's and I've never said that in any of my posts.

But owners don't sit idle on the sidelines either.

I've been an Os fan for over 40 years so I know the Angelos years very well unfortunately.

I think the argument your making that the owner shares no blame in a season off the rails like this one is ridiculous so I guess we have to agree to disagree on the amount of blame Rubenstein shoulders lol.

Yes big marquee free agents and trades they certainly have input on. But no Juan Soto names were in our wheelhouse this off-season. We weren't trading away Basallo, we weren't considering some big mega contract. So I'm sorry but you're reaching with that one.

Rubenstein bought in December and got full control in what...July? You're sitting here acting like he, not knowing anything about baseball operations as he said last year, shoulda made the moves for Elias this off-season, lol I think you don't have any specific criticism but you're just blaming him just because he's the owner. He opened up the purse strings more which is what owners are supposed to do--not dictate every single baseball move.

And you don't think Rubenstein could of said, Hey we may want to consider going an extra 2 years to get Burnes?

Hello. 1 big major free agent left for Arizona. They weren't trying to sign him lol?

I would consider that a major free agent deal.

Are you a Rubenstein mega fan? Are you jockeying to be his PR guy?

  14. 3 hours ago, Maestrobjwa said:

All of that you just mentioned? Those are all baseball operations. Elias is the president of baseball operations. We went through three decades of Angelos constantly meddling in those...and how did that turn out? Ownership shouldn't be making those decisions--the GM has to be allowed to do his job!

And let's talk about those purse strings: As @WxUSAF just pointed out...Rubinstein increased the payroll by 70M. There are the purse strings--he enlarged them. Elias made the decisions on how to spend that money. Owner finances--owner let's GM makes decisions on how to spend it. That's the healthy way the hierarchy should work in any organization. What else is he supposed to do--especially since he just got here less than a year ago? This is ultimately on Elias.

Sorry but when the team fails this hard from what expectations were the owner deserves some blame.

Your being naive if you think owners aren't involved in signing of marquee free agents or in big trades when your trading away blue chip prospects for an ace.

Elias deserves the majority of the blame, more than Hyde and certainly more than Rubinstein,  but Reubenstein is not immune from any criticism.

Now it's up to him to fire Elias after the season.

My guess is he will get 1 more chance to fix this.

O’Neill can opt out, the orioles can’t. It’s a player option I believe. And probably not going to opt out at the rate he’s going lol

Oh shit. I just looked up his contract.  Yep. Your right.  That's not good lol.

  16. 1 hour ago, WxUSAF said:

Well the kicker is, the payroll increased by like $70M!  For people like Charlie Morton, Gary Sanchez, and Tyler O'Neill!  Not exactly money well spent.

Just awful lol.  I should say Spent no long term money. All 1 year band aid deals. Even O'Neil isn't really a 3 year deal. Club can opt out after a year and I'm sure they will lol.

So tell me: How exactly is this Rubenstein's fault? He didn't make the decision to make the bad signings and trade deadline moves. He and the ownership group just got full control less than a year ago...I think folks are blaming him just because, lol Now what WILL be his responsibility is what happens with Elias.

They spent no meaningful money over the off season.

There we're ace's out there to be had but we end up with Charlie Morton and Kyle Gibson. How the F does that happen? Lol.

No extensions for any of the young core.

    Just an awful off season.

He's not totally to blame but he controls the purse strings and he does get some of the blame. He shouldn't get off the hook completely.  Honeymoon is over lol.

  19. Mullins takes a called strike 3 down the middle and then Holiday gets thrown out at second. In the 9th inning.

The Os broadcast team trying to somehow someway spin positivity lol

    Hyde needs to go.

    Elias needs to go.

Rubinstein can fu@king go to. Clueless

Let's do more Rubinstein bobble head giveaways. :axe:
