  1. Up to 71 degrees here now and not a cloud in the sky. Absolutely perfect spring weather.
  2. I think 60s are nice, but I agree that we'd like to see some 70s soon. It's long range, but we are seeing some signs that warmer 70s will be coming in during the week of May 9th. At that point we're heading into mid May, so you would think it's likely.
  3. Beautiful day, despite the wind. Temp is up to 59 here.
  4. Yeah yesterday the temp fell to the mid 50s during the afternoon due to the east wind, but it felt so much better because it was sunny.
  5. 68 degrees here. Turned into a beautiful afternoon.
  6. Sunny and 71 degrees here. Spectacular day. Probably our last 70 degree day for awhile.
  7. Yeah mostly nice weather with 60s here, but the cool shot mid-late next week does look pretty impressive. We could have a couple days (probably wed and thur) where high temps stay in the 50s, and some frost at night not too far northwest of our area.
  8. 73 degrees here with a dewpoint of 21 and not a cloud in the sky. Definitely a top 10 day of the year.
  9. It's 88 degrees here. Feels like the middle of summer, but decent outside because the dewpoint is fairly low. Hoping for a nice t-storm later this afternoon.
  10. A very comfortable 64 degrees here. Beautiful spring day.
  11. Definitely annoying that a cool pattern settled in for late March and early April, after how warm it was in early to mid March. But the long range is showing a nice warm pattern starting around April 12th, so we can look forward to that.
  12. The weather pattern the next couple weeks certainly isn't beautiful with the cool weather, but at least we're done with the cold weather after the current cold blast passes tomorrow. The cooldowns will still have high temps in the 50s, so at least it's decent spring weather even though not as warm as we'd like. Really a sad scene out there now though with the dead flowers. When you look up at the magnolia trees, it looks as if you're looking at brown leaves in the fall. Really a shame that this extreme arctic blast happened to ruin some of these spring flowers.
  13. Yeah, 2 more nights of these extremely cold temps.
  14. The magnolia flowers on my neighbor's tree had just come out and now they're completely ruined. Looks terrible with the brown flowers. Just horrible to get this type of arctic blast this late in the season. Feels terrible out there.
  15. I'll be surprised if the high temps stay in the 30s, considering how strong the sun is this time of year. Temps usually go a few degrees above what the models show anytime the sun is out. It'll probably make it to the low-mid 40s, but obviously that's still well below normal and an impressive early spring cold shot.
  16. High temp of 72 here today, above forecast as usual. Temps almost always go several degrees above forecast here on sunny days.
  17. I LOVE snow and winter, but would never want it all year long. Winter all year would take away a lot of the variety that life has to offer.
  18. You can't seriously mean this. I thought you were a baseball fan? And winter all year would mean no growing season. I hope you are not serious.
  19. No question about that. When I talk about early planting, of course I'm talking about cool season vegetables that can take frost/freeze. For sensitive stuff that can be damaged by frost like tomatoes, it's important to wait until early May in our area.
  20. I usually wait until the last week of March to start the garden with the cool weather vegetables like peas, but there's no point in waiting with the weather looking so warm the next 2 weeks. Might as well take advantage and start early, so I'm going to plant pea and radish seeds early this week. I enjoyed the last blast of winter this weekend with the snow, but it's nice that we're going to get real spring weather in mid to late March this year.
  21. 1.5" storm total here. An inch from the snow earlier in the day and a half inch from the band of snow showers/squalls that just came through. Nice little event today. Really made sure I enjoyed it since it's most likely our last snowfall of the season.
  22. It's interesting on radar you can see several little lines or streamers on the back edge of the band that move rapidly from northwest to southeast. One went right over me and it was just like a blizzard. Great finale for this event. We added a quick half inch here on top of the inch that we got earlier today.
  23. Heavy wind-driven snow. Neat little squall developed along the back edge of the band of snow showers. Looks like a blizzard out there and even the road is covered.
  24. Moderate snow here now that's coating the pavement. Temp is down to 25 now so it's sticking more easily than the snow that we had earlier.
