  1. I can't believe I haven't shared my final total. Ended up with 10.2", with some pretty heavy rates Tuesday morning. Really happy with it overall. Looking forward to more on Wednesday.
  2. Light snow, much improved from last night. 3.6” from round 2, bringing the total to 8.4”
  3. Picked up 0.8" today, bringing the total to 5.6". Hoping the herpaderp is on to something, though it usually tends to be too bullish.
  4. It's all good. I've been skeptical of this storm all along, and yesterday was a lot of fun. Plus it's very early in the season and there will hopefully be plenty of more opportunity.
  5. Hideous dry slot for us. Part 2 has been very lame around here.
  6. Holliston isn't far from me... now I feel ripped off
  7. Well, this is my first snowstorm since moving to New England, and now that I'm here, met winter is off to an amazing start, regardless of whether this storm has a part 2 around here. It was coming down very hard around 8pm. 3.8" and counting.
  8. Man that’s an unbelievable chart... I’d be more than thrilled with just half of that.
  9. Yikes. Probably early Jan 2003. My old backyard in Maryland has had 6 events with at least that much, since then.
  10. This map is more realistic, but still very good for most.
  11. Here in northern RI, my gut tells me this will be a messy advisory event, with 2-5". I've been haunted by last minute north shifts back in the mid-Atlantic and I can easily see that happening this time.
  12. Looks like an 88% chance in North Smithfield RI, very nice to see. Glad I rescheduled my flight.
  13. Got it... so you mean it looks similar to the bands that CT got in Feb 2013. No kidding... 15" for @Ralph Wiggum
  14. You mean Dec 2013? I remember that one fondly from the mid-Atlantic. Very nice surprise in Philly and even where I was in MD.
  15. Just up the road from @mappy, Shrewsbury appears to have a coating.
  16. I just saw that it's snowing pretty nicely in PA, and it seems some of you northerners are at least getting some flakes, so congrats! Even though I'm up north now, it's just rain here in RI.
  17. Just purchased the Epic Local. Looking forward to Stowe and Okemo this year, as well as Wildcat again.
  18. I didn't buy any pass yet. I looked up the benefits and discounts and did not see that 50% discount for Stowe or Okemo. Maybe it's only for people who already bought a pass before the merger closed. I'm leaning towards Epic local.
  19. At this point I'm considering two options for skiing: Drifter pass + MRG seasonal pass ($650 total) Epic local pass ($719) Either choice would include all the Peak resorts, but if I get the Epic local, then instead of MRG, I'd be able to ski Okemo, Sunapee, and usually Stowe (except for blackout days). Stowe is also somehow a bit less of a drive than MRG. Okemo seems like the perfect mountain for me as an intermediate skier. If I wanted to be cheaper, I could get the Drifter pass alone, but then I'd only have a few decent options in New England, with none in northern VT, and to me that isn't enough. What are your thoughts?
  20. Magic is another mountain I'd like to visit. I've heard good things about it.
  21. I hardly found any lines at Wildcat. Mt Snow was pretty crowded though, probably because of its proximity to the big metro areas. But yeah, late season skiing is underrated, and while I was up there I literally forgot it was the first day of spring because it was still so wintry. The snow depth was pretty incredible around Pinkham notch, and I also took a little tour up to 4200' on Mt Washington. I look forward to getting back up there soon. Hope your boy enjoys the mountains as much as we do. Childhood is such a good time to pick up skiing.
  22. I was at Mt Snow and Wildcat last March, and I drove all the way from MD to get all the way up there. I enjoyed both mountains, and I especially enjoyed being at Mt Snow on a powder day, but I've been told there is so much more to Vermont than Mt Snow, and I'm willing to drive to see the best of it. Wildcat is nearly as far from my location as MRG, but I still definitely want to make some trips up there. Crotched is the closest Peak resort and it seems to have the cheapest lessons, so that will probably be my "home mountain" so to speak (Wachusett is the closest, but I don't want to double the money I spend on passes just for that). As far as the cost, MRG offers a much better deal for the under 30 crowd than any other good mountain in the area, and after this year I won't have another chance to get a pass that cheap.
