  1. 0.12" yesterday and overnight from showers and drizzle. 1.35" the last couple days including the Sunday night storm.
  2. 66 with some light showers moving through from NE to SW. .05" so far Kinda like that it stayed cloudy and damp today after the heavy rain last night. Keeps the moisture around. Downside is those Asian tiger mosquitos don't need much water lying around to keep the cycle going.
  3. I noticed. That sucks. Been happening here a lot recently. Finally got a direct hit.
  4. 1.2" Bull's eye. Been forever.
  5. Getting crushed. Heavy rain and lots of T&L. Been awhile.
  6. I don't grow crops. Grass mostly gone. Sunflowers dried up. Most of the plants are still ok but I need to start watering more regularly if it doesn't rain soon.
  7. No rain here in over two weeks. Everything's dried up/dead, except weeds. IDGAF.
  8. Well, he manages to claim victory if winter in the east is cold/snowy regardless of how his postulation works out.
  9. We just cant know the character of winter until the rate of change of snow cover advance over Eurasia is determined during the month of October.
  10. Probably looking high temps upper 70s to low 80s with reasonable dewpoints if this verifies.
  11. Without digging into it, I would guess there probably isn't much of a correlation between early Fall cool periods and the overall upcoming winter pattern. It's just too soon for the character of winter to show its hand, for many reasons. Maybe @psuhoffmancan shed some light on this.
  12. Early next week the dewpoints will still be on the higher side due to the flow around Erin as it passes off the coast. Also depends on how close it tracks to the coast- Euro has it a bit closer. Mid to late week when winds shift to the N/NE on the backside drier air will work in. Looks like dewpoints may drop into the 50s to low 60s.
  13. C'mon y'all. Can't we all just get along? Maybe Mitch misread and thought that dude was speaking of mountain west states. Mitch was a long time resident of the MA sub forum before moving to PA. TheClimateChanger? No idea who this dude is. Doesn't appear he is from around these parts.
  14. Another nothing burger. Barely enough to wet the ground yesterday, and another disintegrating line moving this way. Still at 0.63" for the month, which fell 2 weeks ago tomorrow. Do I care? Not really. Plants are ok, grass is mostly dead as usual, and I'm going to plant clover in a couple weeks.
  15. Still lookin good for some nice 'coolish' weather just beyond mid month with h5 ridge out west.
  16. Wow the Polar vortex is going to descend from the stratosphere and take up residence over the northern Plains.
  17. Mostly mid to upper 80s here for the next week. One 90 in the forecast. Uptick in humidity will be most noticeable.
  18. Better. Yes it looks like a generally dry period for our area, but there is some uncertainty. Any rain we do see will most likely come in the form of convection and it will be scattered. Haves and have nots.
  19. There is always variability. Especially in current times. Last winter was a weak Nina- historically terrible for DC/greater MA snowfall. But last winter was above avg for much of the MA lowlands. And cold kept it around for weeks. Not saying this winter will be that, but the climate models do have the same general longwave look. Devil in the details as always.
  20. You are posting a rainfall map for a single op run over a 7 day period from a global model when the chance for rain is in the form of scattered convection. You think it has it nailed? Btw some in the region do get rain per that particular run, not that it means much. Do better.
  21. Normal/below normal temps from the 20th to the end of the run. That puts us a few days from Sept. I'm sure we will get our typical second summer heat, but if August plays out like this given the nice period we just experienced, hard to complain.
  22. The upcoming warm/hot and humid period may be relatively short lived as the h5 longwave pattern reshuffles and the mean ridge placement is out west just beyond mid month on the latest ens means.
  23. Another nice day. Humidity a touch higher. 82/62 Getting bit outside working on the deck. Asian Tiger season now. Bastards are small but itch like crazy. Not many but just enough to find you, and as dry as it is they don't need much water to breed. Empty plant saucers etc.
  24. Fans are already disillusioned, and NFL football is less than a month away now. Most Orioles fans are Ravens fans. Interest in an underachieving baseball team going nowhere at that point will be next to nothing.
