    1) GEFS have been a little better with respect to the handling of the Pacific this season IMO 2) European suite has a tendency to be too deep with those closed lows out there.

    Yea...could be a few inches in a narrow area maybe near the bridge, where there is enough lift and thermals are palatable.

    All trolling aside, what are your thoughts on the rest of the winter? Do you think we see a decent stretch, or are we talking worst ever?

    I mean, I want to succeed....don't get me wrong. But I think it seems like I take this harder than I really do because I reference everything so much, etc. I know people joke about how I refer to the outlook a million times all winter, but the way I look at it is why bother to do all of that work if you aren't going reference it and grade it, etc.

    Yea, well it is what it is. It's not very pronounced and probably west-based.

    I think its bc alot of the PNA has been west-based and off of the coast

    Pacific jet has killed January. Reminds me of 2001-2002...just less pronounced pig over AK.

    You are right about cold loading west, though. It's been a problem due to where the PV has been, not so much the PNA. PNA was an issue in December.
