I desperately need a 200mb windchart of the Pacific from @brooklynwx99explaining why this time will be different ...maybe drop a "mountain torque" bomb no less than 3 & no more than 6 times.

I think it was... Severe weather, anafrontal, WINDEX, Backlash and inverted troughs. Not meant to imply the science behind them isn't valid or that they never materialize, but that they are exceedingly low likelihood.

This is one trade off with respect to climate change that I am happy to embrace...trade a few nuisance deals for big dogs.

Yes, you are right about that. I just think people get carried away with attribution and sensationalize. That is a pretty fair description, though. I honestly don't think we would have much more snow this season if it were 60 years ago....maybe one event it would have made a difference. But a very active PAC jet has and always will blow big ones....they are just warmer big ones now.

That's where we are at this year, though....you have the best mets in the region scrounging for a fruadulent anafrontal flurry. Its pathetic and immensely disheartening. And the saddest part is that you know damn well a -12SD NAO block is coming on about April 12th.

Yea, a raging PAC jet would have killed winter in 1960, but it probably wouldn't be the warmest January on record back then.

Just saying...I blew January, but that doesn't necessairly mean the whole forecast is shot. I did expect a +EPO this winter, but just didn't expect it to ruin January. Anyway, it's the aggregate DM period that is graded.

You know, it could still just end up that I reversed Jan and Feb, like I did back in 2021. My forecast totals are only around average... I feel like some people are under the impression that I was calling for 2010-2011 totals, and I was not.
