  1. Past hour
  2. You’d be hard pressed to find many Atlantic hurricanes with a better satellite appearance than this. I’d be shocked if this wasn’t a 5 at 5pm.
  3. WB 12Z EPS. Another dry two weeks as it looks like tropical moisture is blocked from coming north. Cool shot coming late week otherwise mild overall.
  4. Im totally trolling when I say OTS. What I will say is we've seen tropical systems have a mind of their own and drift further west than guidance. I wouldn't take any model verbatim.
  5. I've made those my Christmas trees the past few years. Love them.
  6. The dense tree growth is keeping the under 100° days record going at 4818. 7. Missing dates. I have redone the file. I had forgotten to exclude months with missing days.
  8. Probably. There are also meat substitutes and lab grown meat is becoming more prevalent. This will be a great boon to the environment because animal farming wastes a lot of land, water and other resources as well as high methane emissions. This is where I'm at, I love the taste of meat so either meat substitutes or lab grown meat are good by me. Animal experimentation is also being replaced by lab grown organs and 3D printing of organs, which are not only less expensive to house and more efficient but also much more accurate than animal testing. I see this greatly helping out the organ donor program too. Technology moves us forward as always.
  9. I agree about foie gras. But it's not natural to be a vegan. The only reason you're able to be a vegan and not be very sick or dead is because of modern civilization.
  10. Even the airport! NYC is the last remaining holdout then, everyone else from DC to Boston has hit 100 this year.
  11. September yes, but we used to turn on the heat in early October going back to the 80s. None of those winters were snowy but the cold always came in early. Our benchmark was the first time the low goes below 40 we turned on the heat.
  12. Beaut of a day in the North End of Boston.
  13. it's also why mass migrations happen, especially if it's connected to famine and starvation.
  14. It never gets cold enough in September and October to be worried about heating bills. Only the tail end of October can get chilly and still not enough to break the bank on heating. A "cold" September is basically highs of 70 and lows of 50. That's the temp zone where you use the least amount of energy.
  15. Yes I thought my eyes were playing games on me when I saw the October thread so I wrote this there: Don how did EWR go from the hottest September on record in September 1891 to the coldest October on record in October 1891? Both are way out of line with NYC lol.
  16. My friend has 4 kegs on draft in his basement bar and a small barrel of moonshine he's been aging for 3 years. Bringing a sleeping bag and doing a doubleheader of Penn State than morning kegs and eggs for Steelers game Sent from my SM-G970U1 using Tapatalk

  18. 12z euro ai, nearly a cap cod landfall with a slow crawl north.
  19. Don how did EWR go from the hottest September on record in September 1891 to the coldest October on record in October 1891? Both are way out of line with NYC lol.
  20. There are multiple unlivable conditions all over the world already. Which is why people don’t live there. Never have.
  21. Sorry, I pasted from the table early in this thread and accidentally overlooked my note. There were missing days. Note: The highest average maximum temperature at Newark for a September that is missing no daily records is 83.3°, which was set in 2005.
  22. Tell you what. You come take your time in the barrel for a few late summers/early falls and then let us know how unfortunate it is that you don't get hit.
  23. 1961 was also very hot wow, 9 and 8 90+ highs at EWR and NYC respectively. Wait, Don, how did EWR have an average high of 88.0 in September 1891? That looks obscenely high and MUCH higher than everyone else lol. UHI in 1891? What does that month look like for highs/lows at EWR? How was it so much hotter there in September 1891 than NYC was?
  24. Yes, it's similar to how May was in 1991, both had a high number of 90 degree days. September 1983 really tailed off after the 21st though and got colder in a hurry after the equinox. Led to a very cold and dry la nina winter in 1983-84.
