  1. Past hour
  2. 0.75" Much needed but could use a lot more.
  3. It’s possible that the next chance may be during the 2nd half of July at a lower level than this one was. The trough out West was very impressive. Though the cooler air is highly limited in the Northern Hemisphere with all the record heat across the globe, that area did manage to see some record lows. This matches the pattern of recent years with our warmest temperatures occurring with deep Western Troughs.
  4. You're not getting as hot as yesterday though, the atmosphere is "cooler." You already had best case scenario conditions yesterday.
  5. it's 90 here already just like it was yesterday here at 7:45 am lol
  6. Got down to 79. 86 currently. And we're off.
  7. Yep, I was in the upper 80s by 10 PM but then it just kind of stalled and fell very slowly after that.
  8. it's also very rare to hold back the sea breeze like that. If it happens again my guess would be between July 20-31? Like with a November snowstorm, doesn't it take awhile for the pattern to reload? I think we could hit 100 again today and then our next chance might be in 4 weeks.
  9. I was dropping at a slow but steady pace but then just stopped and stayed around 81 or 82 the whole night.
  10. This was a record event for late June in our area. The La Niña sample size for 103° or greater is very limited for the last 10 days of June. But 2021 was the last time. It turned out to be the highest summer temperatures we experienced that year. This extreme event was associated with a very deep trough diving into the West. Current models forecasts don’t show a trough returning to the West as we head into July. So my very early guess is that this could be the only 103° to 105° range we see this summer. But there could very well be another few 100°-102° days beyond this current period.
  11. let's hit 100 again today Tony! Yesterday felt like July 1936 or July 1966 here when I achieved my location record of 106.0 at 4:36 pm beating my old location record (at the same spot) of 105.6 on July 22, 2011.
  12. Comfortable morning on the deck. Notably drier. At leadt so far.
  13. Actually managed to get into the 60s (69). Already up to 76 though.
  14. Once it got down to 84 it stayed there it was our overnight low =\
  15. I really thought I'd make it into the upper 70s with lower dewpoints lol
  16. Didn't Westhampton also get to 100 yesterday Chris? Maybe we all do it again today with it never getting below 84 here last night and completely sunny skies today and an offshore wind again?
  17. How did it not get below 84 here last night? We got into the 80s around 10 PM but then hovered in the mid 80s all night. With the dew point lower, I expected it to get cooler than that last night.
  18. There was no sea breeze here and I'm 5 miles due east of JFK. It hit 106.0 here at 4:36 pm here. Did JFK really get a sea breeze? They were still over 100 at 5 PM and I was over 100 at 6:20 PM
