Im gonna call it, very low probability of a severe ice event where we are, south of ATL. Really looking like a nice pretty glaze. I dont think we will be cold enough at the lower levels long enough to get much accumulation at all here. Im not saying storm cancel, but Im gonna stick with this. Typical climo here supports it too.

I still owe you a beer from last year. Make it 2 if your prediction comes true:D

Went from seeing 20 inches of snow to nothing and praying I don’t get crushed by ICE in less than 24 hours. Always assume that if you’re just barely in the snow line 4 days out that its about to shift north a good 800 miles if you’re in southern NC.

Funny enough we managed to get snow here in November without mixing issues, but when it comes time for January, and actual winter to come by we can’t get squat. Go figure.

The winter weather is snow only crowd can go ahead and just logoff at this point. Cluttering everything up with crying.

Some of us would rather keep our power on and not have tree fall on our house thank you very much.

Euro had me with 15 inches of snow and then went to freezing rain less than 24 hours later. I was more than barely in the snow line.

I don't wanna hear that it was just hype from youtube/social media weather accounts either. This was messaging from NWS Atlanta last night. Even going so far as saying they could see more snow being forecast as time went on. IMG_7600.thumb.jpeg.62b2b9a6009b41a03be1db51ab5cc249.jpeg

Can I go back in time and trade this hobby for something that has a better chance of winning? Like gambling?

Really. This one might be the one that breaks me. It's stupid to waste time looking at something that had so much agreement on the models for a big snowstorm here 4 days out only for it to change in less than 24 hours 3 days out.

You’ve been around through a lot of disappointment. A lot. That’s what this area produces most of the time. You’ll be back. And I’m grateful for that.

It's simple from here on out - if it isn't in the high-resolution models inside 36 hours, take it with a grain of salt.  I have never in my life seen so many thread the needle examples - and no matter the ingredients, it fails. Is what it is - hoping the 2m temps mean sleet for a while, makes sledding fun!

Yeah, maybe it's better to just not check out the models and come on here until then.

I had an inch and half of ice back in 2003 when I lived in the Midlands of SC that went on for like 2 days, and the 2nd day we lost power. I don’t ever wanna see that much ice again in my lifetime.

I’ll take some cold rain over that.

(I will preface this by saying good for them for having a big one coming in, I'll never diss on anyone for getting snow if theyre wanting it)

Went and checked the MA thread. They're close to going into full storm mode for possible feet of snow in places.

What could have been...

I'm starting to think I enjoy pain and suffering. I've also been a Buffalo Bills fan since the 90s and they rip my soul out every time they make the playoffs. Much like 95% of these winter storms in the south do.....
