If it was 29.4, would you round to 29?  Just wondering.  I feel like with temps we have a real # and no need to ever round.

Yes, when rounding numbers one goes down in that case. I track my readings consistently with traditional NWS reporting methods. Perhaps that is changing?

I have no idea.  For some reason when we have an actual #, I feel like we shouldn't round.  If I have 1.6" of snow, it stays at 1.6".  Its probably just a me thing    I think it bothers me most with 90° days.  If I dont see my temp starting with a 9, I didnt hit 90 haha.

Good point on snowfall measurements. I wonder if it may change for temps as I see now at least at KMGJ that when you look at the three days history they do now show temp readings to the tenth.

Not sure what the NWS standard is, but if n.5°, I round to the even number, otherwise up or down.  But I'll often record a comment, such as min 32.5°.  My sensor is pretty close, but within .1°F might be a tad optimistic.  Autumns are a tad subtropical here due to the closeness of the LI Sound.  This morning's low was 36° (36.5°).  Some interior parts of Suffolk were in the mid to upper 20s.

Grass is still green but not growing. I did my last cut for the season on Monday and it was more for snow prep, I like it a little shorter for winter, than actually growth which wasn't much the last ten days.

My front lawn is still growing a bit but the back has stopped. Which makes sense because during the summer my front lawn is usually burnt and brown, it gets much more sun. My backyard probably averages an extra couple hours below freezing this time of year.

now i just mow to mulch some of the leaves.
