Speaking of Carvers Gap in the Tennessee Valley forum. I'm borrowing this shot of the 12Z Euro ensemble for 150 hours. That's about as good as it can get 6 days out. Remember our next event will begin unfolding around Wednesday night/Thursday for N TX and Arkansas. The short term Mesoscale Guidance will be in range Tuesday for those areas. Also, that is brutally cold air dropping down from the Dekotas and Minnesota into the mid Mississippi/Ohio Valley!

Well we haven’t had an EPS run that looked this good in a while. I’ll roll the dice with this setup. Some big dogs in there as well. You can see there are some differing opinions on whether this will be 1 wave or 2.

So the American/Canadian/European models all have the potential event next weekend. The Euro drops 19 inches of digital snow in the Valley.

What a wild image. The implications for the state of NC would be insane. Onward to the next suite.

What the 12z euro depicted would be a classic winter storm of old for the southeast.  We haven't seen something modeled like that for years honestly and not within 6 days. Now as exciting as things are yall know the 72 hour rule although this last storm crapped the bed on that but it's nice to look at. The pattern screams something like this. This is a stable cold pattern for sure and I'm not surprised this kind of just appeared with a reasonable range.

Another solution by the gfs. Who's surprised.  Hopefully the Euro leads us on this which it should.  This is definitely it's wheelhouse.

18z Euro was a lot of ice through the end of the run but had the potential to switch over if it kept on going. Still has a massive storm.

Starting to get a tad concerned about the icing.  Even if we don't get it, it appears some areas could get hit hard.  Guess we will see.  I'm supposed to fly home to TRI via CLT on Saturday.  Might try to get on a Friday flight.  Sat looks like it would be a less than ideal day to fly.

Surprisingly, down to 14.4 this morning so far.  Really bottomed out. I will believe any snow forecasts when I am shoveling the result. I am hoping for no ice, and hoping the models are right for a change.

Low of 16 and current temp of 19. Currently their may or may not be a significant system this weekend.  We've got the Euro and GFS showing something. That's about all im going to bite on Currently.  The mountain crew will monitor the situation but we won't get into a frenzy....

Bottom out at 18 this morning. Lots of data to take in from the overnight runs. As time moves on the battle lines will become more clear on the impacts at the end of the week.

An overrunning event would be a classic winter storm for the region.  I think it would be best case scenario with what's being shown.

I had a low of 16 this morning. So I guess we'll be watching things unfold this week.
