marsman
High of 97.1 yesterday at 5pm, but it felt worse at 10:30 when the HI was 110 and I was doing some tree pruning. I couldn't make it more than 40 minutes outside. T of rain yesterday evening.
marsman
Heck of an outflow coming off those storms east of Raleigh. edit: delete ginormous video.
cbmclean
Some beautiful cells blossoming between Raleigh and here. Unfortunately they do not appear to be moving much at all.
GaWx
A new small cell literally just popped up here just before 5PM. No thunder yet, but raining pretty heavily. 5th afternoon in a row with rain! Edit 5:50 PM: That lasted ~25 minutes and there never was thunder. Now a 2nd cell with some heavy rain is coming in on the same track moving in an unusual direction, SSE. Hoping today’s totals don’t get too high because otherwise there’d be trouble here. Edit on 7/14: Yesterday (7/13) I ended up with ~0.75”, which brings the 5 day total for 7/9-13 up to a whopping 6.35” and MTD up to 7.25”!

cbmclean Posted yesterday at 04:48 PM Share Posted yesterday at 04:48 PM RAH has really cut my POPs for the upcoming week. Just yesterday it was 40 - 60% most of the week; now it's mostly ~30%. I missed out on the good stuff last week so I'm feeling a little bit of disquiet as we go into the dog days of summer.
NorthHillsWx Posted yesterday at 05:32 PM Share Posted yesterday at 05:32 PM Picked up 0.12” yesterday from a shower that popped up overhead from that massive outflow that expanded from storms that originated in Franklin county. Not sure anyone watched yesterday’s radar loop in central nc but that was an insane explosion of an outflow boundary with textbook cells popping as it propagated in all directions. Looked like a bomb on radar

We were in that boat last month when everyone else was being flooded. Thankfully the tables turned here and we’re at 5.23” for july with half a month to go

It hasn't been super dry.. yet: sitting at 1.57" for the month and we're still living off the good vibes of our 10.00" June.
NorthHillsWx
We’re getting a very heavy afternoon storm with a couple scary-close lightning strikes. Will probably end up close to an inch of rain but it’s still pouring
