IrishRob17
It's amazing how I went from bitching that every weekend had precipitation to my yard having rock hard soil and dormant grass. This morning the dews just hit me different, like I'm really starting to get sick of them. I don't like them to begin with but I do my best to embrace whatever weather we have but this morning might have been my breaking point LOL 2

I don't keep my a/c on all night like I did in those months. That said, it came back on at 11 am today, it's really humid even without any sun. gravitylover
Been busy... Looks like I got .5 on Wednesday. It dried up in no time Yesterday driving home I found the only rain around. Good thing too because the windshield was covered in bugs and I could hardly see. That stretch between Binghamton and Roscoe is brutal for bugs. gravitylover
I actually saw the backside of the cell from a few miles east of Binghamton. The upper third was lit up by the sunset so I watched it for almost 2 hours until it got too dark. I caught up to it around Goshen.

That sounds stunning and absolutely amazing, did you get to see a rainbow too? I had a similar situation on July 3rd and captured a stunning double rainbow with purple skies. That almost happened with this storm, but the sky was too dark and the beginnings of the rainbow looked pale and almost a light pink color against the purple skies. I tend to start heading ESE around 6 as my customers close so I'll often chase, or be chased by, storms as they work this way. It's a real hoot in the winter as a front is working down and I can watch "the wall" behind me in the mirror. 7 hours ago, LibertyBell said: cicadas? I dunno what juicy, window splattering, paint wrecking, headlight blocking insect-like critters they are but I can tell you that they suck. It means you're going through a healthy ecosystem, rather than one destroyed by various insecticides. Drive from New York to New Haven or to Albany, you won't have that problem.
