Maybe another hour or so until better stuff arrives, if at all? I don’t see how this picks up anytime soon with radar the way it is.

NAMs dropped off precip but the HRRR maintains it gets cranking in the afternoon as the colder air drops in

Very  windy  here. If  it does snow its going to be  blown around.

Sooo windy here on the immediate coast blowing from the NE. Not good for us obviously with the warmer waters but hopefully this afternoon when the cold front presses south we turn to the northwest or west. Otherwise there won't be much from Norfolk through Virginia Beach down through my area. It's all about the winds. Not expecting any flakes until around 4:00 or 5:00 p.m. down this way. Up by you, you should start seeing something around 1:00 p.m. maybe sooner.

Some  heavier  precip moved  in and  im getting a few flakes  mixed  in. It must  be really  cold aloft.

Yes looking at the reflectivity bright banding shows some fatties to your southwest. I might cash in at the tail end of the event when it's pulling away. Keep us posted with some observations today please. Really can't ask for a better monday.

Yeah the longer the wind is onshore the worse we're going to do down here. Hopefully we'll see have a few good hours of precip when that wind shift finally happens

Exactly.  We just need to watch the trends today. That colder dryer air is pressing between Fredericksburg and Richmond right now. We need that low to crank to pull that down into the system for us to make any hay.

If you look at the traffic cams I posted earlier it’s still not cold enough to even have snow on the main roads all the way into UVA Charlottesville currently..

https://511.vdot.virginia.gov/

I wouldn’t expect this area(Richmond/Short pump) to have any issues with the main roads at least until after 1pm or so ..

This is going to be a mainly grass event  in this area for the next few hours at least
