Is this gonna make it in to the JC, Kingsport area?

Judging by the radar I'd say probably not but I wasn't expecting it to make it this far so who knows lol

This is a bit too far north but looks like it was the closest run of any model. I posted this yesterday and mentioned how models were busting South and East this year and under modeling the NW precip shields. No globals ever caught on to this really and even the NAM lost it after this run.

I think a little bit of vorticity at 850 got sucked up the valley by the larger one to the north. You can kid of see it on the satellite and the Euro showed it at 0z, but pushed it into the mountains. Some of those peaks are above 850, so maybe the vort got channeled up the valley:

Well we've had snow on the ground in northern Miss, Memphis area, Nashville area and now most  Eastern areas. Not the best events except the Nooga area thumping this morning but in such a terrible stretch of terrible winters at least it's something.

Maybe we can spin something else up before winter ends. Probably not going to see a classic slider or Miller A, but always liable to see smaller scale events that hit parts of the forum area before cold season ends.

I just measured 4” on my back deck railing. Ridiculous. 1.5” of that fell in the last half hour.

That’s awesome man, I’m happy for all you Guys and gals who saw snow today!  Always nice when a storm over performs.  Have fun in the snow today

Man. This stuff melted incredibly quickly. It’s 99% vaporized already. I can’t ever remember going from bare ground to 4+” back to bare ground so fast.

Hard to see here but its pouring snow above 1700 feet here. Was mixed when I was in town around 1200 feet, saw the foggy look up the mountain and it was really coming down hard. Saw the GFS showing it but was skeptical.

MRX posted about the snow starting at Morristown and mentioned sun angle causing it not to accumulate. <_<

Went skiing with my son today at Sugar Mtn. In a way I wish that I could have been here to see it come through. I have a friend that says it snowed about 1-1.5in near his house which is just a couple miles away. So have to assume it was similar at the house. It did melt quite a bit today, but  definitely could tell when we got back that it had snowed, as there was still some left on the rooftops and in the yard.
Meanwhile at Sugar, they were reporting 5in yesterday and it snowed from about 11:30-4 today, pretty heavy at times. That combined with the machines blowing all day made for some excellent skiing conditions!
