This one will put them over the top for the snowiest April on record.

1) 31.6" in 1950

2) 25.5" in 2013 thru 4/17

3) 24.4" in 1961

Shattered. 36.7" for this April, through yesterday. They've tacked on more since midnight, which leads us to this...

Top 5 snowiest seasons on record for Duluth

1) 135.4" in 1995-96

2) 131.8" in 1949-50

3) 128.2" in 1996-97

4) 121.0" in 1968-69

5) 117.1" in 1988-89

2012-13 season total stands at 115.3" through yesterday, so with the additional since midnight...a top 5 season looks likely.

And remember...Duluth started the season at a huge deficit, and several even remarked that while deficits can be made up for some cities with slow starts, the far north with its higher seasonal average would have a very difficult time doing so. Well, they made it up and are shooting into the top 5 snowiest list.

Not a bad winter here, but hard not to feel gypped when looking at the upper midwest. This is one of those old-fashioned winters where the north country obliterated areas just to the south (that had not happened much in recent years).
