E PA/NJ/DE/Okle: Banter/Non Storm OBS thread

Yeah.  Princeton is the reason I think.  From Wikipedia:

"Mercer County, New Jersey, while part of the New York Metropolitan Area, has traditionally also been affiliated with the Delaware Valley. Mercer County, a relatively wealthy[peacock term] county located on the northern fringe of the Delaware Valley MSA, is home to both New York and Philadelphia commuters. In recent years,[when?] however, growing numbers of New York commuters have migrated into Mercer. The two main towns in Mercer County are Princeton, located in the northern part of the county, and Trenton, located in the southern part of the county. Train and highway trips to Philadelphia are generally less than an hour from downtown Trenton, while trips to midtown Manhattan generally take over an hour by either highway or rail. Princeton identifies with New York because it is home to many New York commuters who began migrating into the area after World War II.[6] Furthermore, the commute time from Princeton to New York by train is different than the commute time from Princeton to Philadelphia. Mercer County is also its own metropolitan region, called the Trenton-Ewing MSA.[7]"

Their obs page has a link.

http://www.erh.noaa.gov/phi/current.html

Here's the text link (not linked from their page):

http://raws.wrh.noaa.gov/cgi-bin/roman/raws_ca_monitor.cgi?state=PHI&type=&rawsflag=290&timeobs=12&day1=22&month1=9&year1=2007&hour1=22&orderby=e

I don't see it yet.  When did they say it would be up?  Usually they give a date in the e-mail.

  Hey I was just telling them the truth.  I mean, they were both garbage.  Mercer County straddles the metro line (its actually officially NYC Metro, not Philly Metro, though I've never agreed with that) so I feel like I should pay attention to that forum, too, even though I consider this one my "home".

Fun facts: Mercer is in the Philly TV market, while part of the "NYC Metro." New Haven County is in the Hartford TV market, yet is somehow "NYC Metro."

Here's a good question....

Worst BUST thread of the week.....

1. Weekend Warmth Thread-me

2. Wintry potential (early week)-tombo

3. Southern Special-Rowan/phlwx

:)

All three of us are banned from any potential snow threat threads for the next 30 days ;)

I didn't even start the "southern special" thread.  Someone edited it out of the mid range thread.

Here in NW Chester County we are still above average snowfall for the season. Through today we stand at 11.7" which is 0.6" above normal to date. This despite the well above normal temps so far this winter season. It has really been an inland snow year - up and down the coast. I was in Boston on Wednesday and they had their largest storm of the year (a very wet few inches at Logan) which brought their seasonal total to 7.0" - this is 11" below normal. Inland a ways (I was working just east of Worcester (45 miles inland) and they are at over 30" season to date which is a few inches above normal.

Hopefully for all the snow weenies up and down the coast the pattern shift to colder will be followed by ample snow for all....I for one am still betting on above normal snowfall for all in the Northeast from Maine to DC by the time we get to April.
