  1. Nothing happening under the light returns in Charlottesville at the moment.
  2. I think this is part of the same event we are discussing in a different thread. Was this a surprise snowfall down there?
  3. Hoping for at least a few flakes in Charlottesville. Would be nice to extend the life of the snow piles.
  4. You’re right, I called that a little early looking at 60. My bad. It pushed the R/S line north when people were looking for a thump though.
  5. GFS holds steady, actually going more north then it has in previous runs.
  6. I'm hugging the RGEM. Canadians are much better at sharing the love then the American models.
  7. 3k is really nice. I get fringed by the 12k though. I think everyone would support one more push south so let’s root for that.
  8. Time to accept reality and get excited for witnessing a crazy temperature swing and a proper flash freeze. 55 in DCA at 126hr, 24 at 132hr.
  9. My Intro to Meteorology professor uses the TWC storm names... is that a red flag? He also pulled up the NWS map with storm totals and mentioned my 4.7" report down in Charlottesville, which was cool.
  10. for whatever reason it shows up better on this map.
  11. With the way temperatures seem to plummet afterward, would a flash freeze be something to look out for this weekend even if the precipitation doesn't fall as anything frozen?
  12. It simply can’t on TTT. Can’t recall why, Levi mentioned it when he added it. Think it was something to do with the snow maps it has.
  13. Don’t look now, but I bet it’s snowing again in your backyard now. Try and hit 10.6”!
  14. 16.7" at my Charlottesville address. 10.5" (subject to change after seeing spotter reports) at my Arlington address.
  15. Yes, it did. It was especially annoying because we were able to get flurries earlier yesterday with worse returns. That + some ice pellets + no overhead returns screwed the C'ville area today. And as I mentioned above, continuing to lightly snow with no returns overhead now. Weird place.
  16. Still snowing in Charlottesville at a fairly consistent rate of .2" an hour, which makes the total here 4.7" now. Sidewalks have been healthily recovered.
  17. nah, I do that. if that's improper then disqualify me. We should buy better rulers though I'm told the final total in my N Arlington backyard is 9". As much as I trust my family, I'll check NWS reports in the morning. Still snowing at a fair clip in Charlottesville. Adding up those tenths.
  18. Oddly enough, light snow with fatty flakes continues in Charlottesville. 4.5”, continuing at a pace of .2” an hour. Picked up .5” since daybreak.
  19. Biiiig flakes falling slowly in Charlottesville. Hoping to steal another tenth or two.
  20. 4.3”, picked up .2”. If only we had had returns over us the whole day, could’ve verified low-end warning. Busted down here.
