  1. The maintenence I was referring to was in regard to preventative maintenance. Too many trees are dead and are not taken away.
  2. Aren't you a coin or something
  3. Yeah. That's what I'm wondering. If this thing never gets its act together, it becomes nothing.
  4. It's a combination or weather, lack of maintenance and over population. The grids were built a long time ago. They are yet to be update in a true fashion. Meanwhile the NE and W coasts (TX also) continue to become increasingly populated. Strain increases, maintancece continues to decrease and the situation spirals.
  5. Part of that is also because of what happened in 2003. An effort was made to isolate certain parts of the grid, while also having infrastructure to divert power to in case of emergency. The former was much easier than the later.
  6. Side note - many do not realize as EVs become increasingly popular, we do not have a grid that can support it.
  7. 1) This is America. Why prepare when we can repair? 2) It would be ALOT of money to convert 3) Underground does have its own set of issues.
  8. A healthy rodent! I'll see myself out.
  9. I'll go with what I have been saying. C LI with high end cat 1
  10. That actually looks healthy...
  11. And this is what makes my job so hard. Between the lack of transparency from officials and media needing ratings. I just want to throw my damn hands up and ngaf. But... I digress.
  12. Yup. Thank you. So many do not understand this. Underestimating can cost a tremendous increase in the length of outages
  13. Explodes is relative of course.
  14. It's going to come down to intensity. This explodes, it's going west. This stays weak, it's going East. Personally, I'm camp w.
  15. So what you guys are saying is that I should take both of what you all say and split the difference for an accurate forecast?
  16. I stand by my C LI. I think this is going to be a hard hit and right into the Sayville area. East side is winds, surge and heavy rain. West is a heck of a lot of rain. Then there is the stall. This is a potential disaster in the making. I try to be conservative. I try to not raise an alarm. This is not one of those times I can afford to be more measured. It is time to be prepared. Henri is beginning to get its act together and a quick bout of intensification over the gulf stream could spell disaster for LI/SNE.
