  1. It's hard to get too invested in anything beyond 36hrs this year. 24hrs ago we were looking at several hours of icing for this evening. And now? My hunch is by Wed this will look different -- just don't know if "different" is for the better or worse.
  2. Yeah, current HRRR says, "move along, nothing to see here."
  3. Looks like the NAM keeps the immediate Philly burbs frozen until midnight or so. Could be a little dicey on untreated surfaces, but no downed trees or powerlines. 32F/DP 23F
  4. Perfect!! Looks like 363 is the dividing line by me...I can hit it with a snowball from here.
  5. I'd like to see a close-up map for central Montco. I'm not sure which side of the line I'm on. I know a few miles either ways doesn't make a difference, just curious where my neighborhood is in relation. Lansdale itself is in the WAA, but I'm west of the borough over by NP High.
  6. In hindsight, maybe it's a good thing I lost a bunch of trees from the June derecho.
  7. It's been pretty quiet here since 4pm or so, but getting some light IP/ZR mix now with a fine glaze forming, 25F/DP 17F.
  8. I was supposed to be in Wallingford this evening but cancelled. Not much is going on here, sound different down your way. Did I make the right decision to bail?
  9. Yeah, looks like the NAM done good NW of 95.
  10. Very light mix of IP and ZR just started, 28F/DP 7F.
  11. Any reports from Kamuland? He looks to be in a good spot for this.
  12. HRRR still shows us getting something up our way. Think I’ll just watch the radar instead of the models.
  13. Right. I'm not used to seeing the NAM dry and it's been consistent with that look. Then you have the HRRR. Waiting on the RGEM.
  14. Lloyd Lindsay Young!! ”Hellooooooooooo Secaucus!”
  15. Look like NJ & DE are the spots to be. NAMs don’t look too impressive NW of 95. Still, it doesn’t take much ice to cause issues on the road.
  16. I wasn't questioning the temps, we'll stay below freezing. Just not sure about qpf. NAMs looked "spotty" while other models looked a little more wide spread.
  17. This is one of those times I have no idea what's going to happen. I have plans in Wallingford tomorrow pm. The NAMs don't look too threatening, the RGEM has me wondering if I should reschedule (and what Ralph said above about the HRRR at range). Think I'll be watching the radar tomorrow and make a game time decision.
  18. Every winter is different, so we'll see how this one plays out. I believe 2010-11 was a snowy Nina for us, that one abruptly ended after an ice storm in mid Feb.
  19. We had a cat that would sit in front on the TV and swat at Jim O’Brien’s pointer as he did the weather.
  20. I was a junior in high school growing up in Delco. I clearly remember the storm but don't recall many details like I do with the '93 and '96 storms. Maybe the memory is starting to fade after nearly 40 years. Thanks for mentioning the thunder snow. Now that you said it, I recall it and I think it was the first time I ever experienced it too. I remember Herb Clark (and Super Radar) calling for 20" or more, I couldn't believe it was possible to get that much snow. I think we were out of school for an entire week. Overall, that was a pretty lame winter in Delco. I do recall they were predicting a big snow storm on a Saturday (don't know the date), but woke to a driving rainstorm instead. We may have gotten a sloppy inch or so at the end.
  21. I think Ralph is just having some fun.
  22. Thanks! For some reason I thought Philly on S&E only needed 4". I expect a WWA for us, but we'll see.
  23. Philly just needs 4" for warning criteria, so I could see them under a warning. But yeah... Atmospheric memory/seasonal trend ftw!
  24. Second day in a row w/o snow falling. Winter of azz!
  25. Looks like wave #1 falls mainly overnight, so that should help freshen up the snow pack. No point worrying about wave #2 until wave #1 clears the field.
