  1. 14F this morning. 12z NAM still shows snow showers tomorrow. Nothing much but nice seeing flakes this time of year.
  2. Yeah, cold chasing precip rarely works in these part. But maybe we'll get a Festivus miracle this year.
  3. They sure do cover all their bases -- "perhaps some sun, with snow possible". Well, they do say there's a 0% probability of thunderstorms...going out on quite a limb there. I'll go with the usual KA Christmas forecast: partly sunny, 50's.
  4. Sounds like the house is getting sand blasted. Sleet in Harrisburg. Weren’t they expecting 18” out there?
  5. Getting pingers here too. But my temp dropped down to 25F, so there’s that.
  6. Yeah, he seemed to imply that since the back edge was approaching DC, our precip will be shutting off soon.
  7. And we barely wasted a flake—very little virga and instant stickage. 26F/DP 24
  8. Weenie handbook rule #12: When the NAM cuts back on snow totals, claim it's suffering convective feedback issues. 27F/DP 14
  9. My bar is set at 8”, we’ll see. There was some filtered sun first thing this am, but clouds have lowered and thickened.
  10. 25F/DP 9 Smells like snow out there, let’s do this!
  11. Good ol' Herb Clark used to like to see ocean temps in the 30's before forecasting an all-snow event.
  12. Can't recall the last time I was under a winter storm warning. November 2018?
  13. Funny how, despite all the changes to this set up since the weekend, that precip hole over central Bucks & Montco has been the one constant. Still, I'll be more than happy with 6-10, even if it's a combo of SN & IP.
  14. Sleet is a biotch to shovel, especially if some rain mixes in. My street has been brined. But then again, my township puts down brine for flurries.
  15. 652 days since the last inch of snow was recorded at Philly International.
  16. wtf happened overnight?? I wake up and Redsky is a Mormon, Ralph's encased in carbonite...who said we need a mod? 12/19/95 is the storm I was thinking of the other day. A forecast of 12+ turned into a sleet feast. After the last two winters, I won't complain what falls from the sky, as long as it's frozen. As others have said, time to pay attention to the hi-res models for CAD.
  17. Big fatties coming down now, but zero stickage so far, 34F/DP 33.
  18. I just realized why I feel confident of a MECS on Wed... I'm dropping the cat off to be neutered at 7am and taking my mom to the cardiologist at 11am. So yeah, one the the few days I have to get in the car since March.
  19. If I recall correctly, there was a storm mid Dec 95 where we were forecasted to get 12”+. It turned into a huge sleet storm instead. Curious how similar this set up is.
  20. And we have the "We're Due Index" in our corner.
  21. 12z NAM at range, so use with caution -- still looks good with rain changing to snow on Monday.
  22. My inner weenie is saying, "the models like to sniff out the big dogs early." My Debbie Downer is saying, "11 more chances for Dr. No to change his opinion." At least there's something to track. We haven't been able to say that for a few years.
  23. Yup, nothing like being in the bull's eye 6 days out.
